I don`t know...I`m not a purist, but...maybe I`m just simply more fond of traditional looks?

Highly not for purists, but there's something extra about a blue-dial PVD Sub...

These have been discussed here before and I think if Rolex were to do this everbody would be all over them like white on rice.

Not for me either. There are many watches with that same look and one does not have to significantly alter a beautiful sub

They are not anodized, the process is called Pysical Vapor Deposition (PVD) and depending on the material deposited in this case Cu (carbon/diamond) the surface becomes highly scratch resistant. Personally I think this is a worthy customization.

PVD'd watch head is OK, but there's something NQR about the bracelet. I think it would look better on a strap, more akin to the look you get with a PVD'd Panerai.

Overall, I prefer the DLC (Diamond Like Carbon) finish that Blancpain use for the 'Dark Knight' version of the Fifty Fathoms.

Cheers

I don't see the point, if I'm honest - you have to pay over the odds for a watch that Rolex will refuse to touch with a bargepole, for a look that happens to be "in" for the time being. I'll stick to stock Rolexes, thanks: you can't improve on the perfect looks of the Sub, no matter how much you pay.

There was recently a PVD'd Sub in the for sale forums here and I wonder if it ever sold?

I personally dislike this treatment a great deal and also wonder how long it takes for edge wear to show through. I bet not long and I imagine it looks bad pretty soon.

Sorry to those who like, but not my cup of Rolex at all.

Here's 16 different versions from 4500 to 27000 so what's the perfect one? Think these are all made by Rolex.

What does this have to do with customized watches?

It looks like Rolex does it themselves.

My point being that if Rolex makes 16 different versions of the same watch seems to me it's fine if you want to make your own or have somebody do it for you.
