Turned down a special one

Got a call from my AD but ultimately decided to turn down the DD40 white gold blue dial.

Such a beautiful watch but a little pricey for me to add to my collection if I am not absolutely in love with it.

I wasn’t on the list for it but do appreciate the call. Must say I have some remorse in turning it down even though it is probably cheaper going grey for that one.

If you're not absolutely in love with it, then you made the right choice. DD's aren't cheap.

Its ok, you made the right choice. I've turned down a WG GMT, WG and YG Skydwellers, WG Submariner, YG DD. None of them were on my list at all. If you don't want the watch don't buy it. The market is shifting back towards normal anyway. In my humble opinion.

Gray is always more expensive than at AD. Should not buy it if you don't really, really want it. You did the right thing. Let someone else who truly loves it have the chance to buy it.

Always tough to pass on a great watch and the WG DD with the blue dial is one of the really cool ones. When I was younger the saying was, "They don't give away Cadillac's and Rolexes." Referring to you will have to pay for nice items. This is really about the money and are you willing to exchange it for a watch. For this watch, obviously no. For another, maybe. Just move on and when the time and the watch are right then make the purchase.

Same thing just happened to me last week, I told them I was not crazy about it and that I would be buying it just to appease the AD. I told them I would prefer to be more transparent and wait for what I asked for. They respected that and it put their mind at ease that I was not a flipper.

There are definitely some cheaper watches new on gray market vs AD on the PM options.

I suspect you’d be flipping at quite a hefty loss on a WG DD40, so no easing of minds probably.

It is a stunner! If I didn’t already splurge on the rose gold/olive, I definitely would not have been able to turn it down.
