UK Wait Times - Daytona / GMT Rootbeer
Anyone got rough ideas on wait times for Daytona and Rootbeer? I've recently gotten onto the list for both. I know it varies depending on AD, etc. But e.g. if someone asked about an Explorer or standard DJ I guess we'd confidently say it's about 6 months to a year.
I'm guessing Rootbeer (judging my recent posts) is a bit easier. Is Daytona still multiple years? Edit: Daytona SS Last edited by Lovebird; 29 January 2024 at 06:14 PM.. Reason: Adding Info |

Which Daytona are you referring to as a SS will take considerably longer/require a relationship versus a TT or PM.

Ah yes, good point. It's a Daytona SS. To be honest, I'd be happy with a TT as well. I sort of jumped on the chance to get on the list (plus the Rootbeer).

Rootbeer easily available from my AD, on exhibition most of the time. Daytona SS … well I’ve been on the ‘list’ for about 6 months now and no sign of one. They have 3 PM ones on exhibition. If it counts for anything, I have a good relationship with my AD and they have looked after me.

Almost anything 2 tone should be doable currently but you still might end up waiting a year! Depends how lucky you are.
SS Daytona is impossible without significant spend history. I'm clearly not very likable as I'm struggling to get a 36mm datejust! I really don't like Watches of Switzerland as a company as they control most of the market. Good luck! |

No idea on the Rootbeer as not watch that interests me, but when I asked about a SS Daytona the response I got was “about 20 years!”.
I think a TT is considerably shorter & probably a nicer watch anyway. |

I don't think you'll get a sniff of a Daytona

You will never be offered a SS Daytona unless you drop 100k on jewellery etc. Rootbeer should be ok if you have some history probably within 18 months.

UK Wait Times - Daytona / GMT Rootbeer

Unless things are significantly different, across the pond, it should be much sooner than that. A lot of guys got the Rootbeer very quickly, here. Some have been offered it, that didn’t even ask for it. As for the SS Daytona, don’t hold your breath…. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

There is a list for the TT. There is not a list for the SS Daytona. It only goes to VIPs who usually get it in short order.

Can only speak for my US market but probably similar. The CHNR available within 6-12 months. The AD will likeky have to ask if you might want a SS Daytona versus “putting you on a list.” Any quote of 5 years plus means you won’t be getting one from them.
My AD really has lists but they will never be 100% chronological. They say they limit the number of people on a list to how many they can deliver within two years of a particular model. I received a Daytona in 2019 after a 9 month wait, the whole process and updates were very transparent. They told me “within a year” and it was my 3rd SS Professional model from them. |

Rootbear I’d say < 6 months, TT Daytona < 12 months and a SS Daytona subject to spend (not as much as you may expect) and patience (likely more than expected!).
For what it’s worth, I spent approx (£50k, give or take £5k) over 6 years before getting a SS Daytona in early 2023. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It took a few months to get a rootbeer on the waitlist. Daytona, it will take a few years and a whole lot of "relationship building"

No the UK in my experience is similar everywhere There's a few independent ADs that are quite good and will reward loyalty and not just in spend. Such as wearing watches you bought when you revisit etc There's a lot of ADs on London, Manchester and other big cities that are selling out the back door at a tidy profit. That is fact as I've been offered hot pieces but the premium you pay is insane |

I waited around 6 months for a Rootbeer in UK. Picked up in October 2023.

So many variables here it’s impossible to answer. It’s not a standard ordered queue.

Last week I was told 10 years, but the wait could be reduced if I bought other non Rolex watches. I said if I was that desperate I would go grey and save thousands

...if they like you, it will come out of the safe.
...if they like your money, buy at least four PM and several slow movers, it will come out of the safe. |

In the the UK. Got no knowledge of the root beer, but a SS Daytona-forget about it for at least 5 years. I got significant spend approaching 6 figures and was told they get 3 a year and there are 300 on the wait list. A tt is easier, I've been on for about 2 years so hopefully it will arrive soon.

‘Exhibition Only’ of course but it still surprised me |

Probably not much help to you but back on the 00s I was on a list for the Daytona for 4.5 years before I picked one up……so as others have said you will likely be in for a long wait.

Root beer shouldn’t be hard, but they’re not much over retail now, so to save playing the AD games, you’ll easily pick one up within a grand of retail. Good luck |

Rootbeer there was three in the display in my local AD. When I collected my new SS 126500
Rootbeers apparently all allocated |
