Well my DSSD going to Rolex service.

Been a great run, but the crown on the pull to set the hands, just spins now. Caught a little when I first started setting the time, almost gritty. Then now nothing. The date can be adjusted and watch will stop ticking when “trying” to set the hands.

I will take it to the Rolex service center in downtown Dallas next week, but I think I heard somewhere this cannot be done anymore. I might be mistaken though.

Any advice? Don’t want to use a local jeweler due to it being a DSSD and they would have difficulty pressure testing. Plus I like that Rolex is servicing the watch.

You can’t drop it off at DSC but you can ship it to them, contact them for details or go to any Rolex AD and they’ll ship it for you.

Thought I heard that, about three years ago you could schedule an appointment and drop it off at the RSC, in Dallas anyway.

I suppose, I don’t know what they did before but I called the Beverly Hills service centre last week to check what another member posted about coming changes. I confirmed that drop off isn’t possible anymore but ADs or customers (with a shipping label provided by Rolex I assume) can ship the watches or have it repaired at ADs that are equipped, or will be equipped, to do it on premises.

I took my DSSD for service about 3 years ago and dropped it off at an AD. they sent it to RSC in I believe PA, and i got it about 2-3 months. it was surprisingly less expensive, they charged me more for my Explorer II (216570) which i got serviced last year (maybe thats due to inflation).

I have to check if my explorer 2 was also sent to RSC if it was done at the AD, i got the 2 year rolex warranty card on both.

Called RSC in Dallas on Harwood and they stated no appointments needed, just come on in. 24 hours and they will have the estimate to me for the repair, if needs an over haul 8-10 weeks.

Ok so I will be stopping by to drop off my DSSD next week. I do not wear the wet suit link due to a better fit overall. Should I bring my papers the link?

Also this is my daily watch, I almost never take off, only to shower. It’s scratched and not a desk diver at all. Probably forgo the polishing. Just have them fix it and move on about my life.

I have a 16600 that uses the same movement, was recently serviced by a well known independent and I sent it back to them under warranty for the same issue.
