Submariner No Date Chrono24

Seeing some newer unworn models now for $12,000(negotiable). What is a realistic price to offer so as not to offend but to be competitive?

I would start retail (and your local tax if applicable) plus $750.00 - $1K.

That’s a great price IMO.

Trusted sellers here are higher than that. Then again, they are trusted sellers, because you can deal in confidence. That’s worth the premium to some

I wouldn’t worry too much about offending someone. You’re not going to meet them face-to-face. Worst that can happen is they say no or ignore your offer. Best case, they counter offer toward a reasonable consensus.

I wouldn’t purchase anything on C24 which didn’t include escrow service or 14 day examination period. These are the ways to mitigate your risk.

Yes many models are lower but until Daytona and Pepsi go below MSRP at grey we still aren’t where we could be.

Agreed i think at $9100 the sub is an excellent value. At $12,000 not so much. I'd rather have a Speedy and Zenith or some other Omega combo.

You may get a variety of responses to this one, but for me as a buyer and seller, I've had great experiences. As a buyer I ask a lot of questions. As a seller I provide a ton of info about the watch's condition, back it up with photos, and answer all questions asked by any prospective buyer. As a private seller I've sold 10 watches (Tag Heuer, Omega, and Rolex) over the past 7 years or so. I strive to make it easy on my buyers to buy the seller.

Do keep in mind that rules for sellers differ between Professional Dealer and Private Seller (unless it recently changed). Not sure escrow is available in all countries (I don't think it is), but I would certainly want that as a part of any deal. I suggest you go their site and read up on this and other topics so you are well equipped.

Don't worry about offending someone with an offer. It could help in leveraging a better price.

One of the trusted sellers has one which is very attractively priced (<$12k) and I'm pretty sure there a little room for negotiation. Also keep in mind that C24 will charge taxes on the purchase.

Why not go into an AD and put your name on a waiting list? I was able to get a sub in less than 6 months by doing so.

Nothing against Chrono24 but it too much effort in a platform with too many questions about sellers to make me comfortable. Why not go to one of our Trusted Sellers, or all of them, and see what the prices are. Remember that asking price and getting price are two different things. I would think that by the time you add tax to an AD purchase, if you can make one, you would be within a comfortable range for a purchase. Many times the attempt to make a purchase turns into really being all about the money and some lose focus on the watch. I think you should get your best deal but don't get hung up solely on the cost. I have been collecting for more than thirty years and one thing I can guarantee is that in the long run nothing desirable from Rolex gets cheaper.
