I went to my AD today and they checked the watch. Seems the amplitude (now I know what that is) was not spinning/turning completely. So that needs to be adjusted. This was probably the case since I got the watch for a little over a year now, but I never kept an eye on the consistency so didn’t notice it before.

The good thing is that my AD has an in house RSC, so it will not take long to get the watch back; they said 4 weeks max and probably sooner.

Thx again for your comments.

There is no amplitude adjustment per se. They will likely perform a full service on the watch.

Ok thx. That’s what the SA told me they were going to do, maybe he didn’t understand the watchmaker.

Do you mean they will replace the amplitude if they do a complete service? That would be a good thing I suppose.

Movement amplitude is the amount of rotation in degrees of the balance wheel. In a healthy movement it rotates around 270° depending on how much the mainspring is wound. If the amplitude in your watch is really low then they will likely strip it down, wash all parts, check each part and replace any with excessive wear, replace the mainspring, and reassemble and lubricate, and then adjust the rate (spd) and correct any beat error. If they haven’t commenced work yet, I would ask them to test and tell you the amplitude and beat error readings before they start. This is info you don’t necessarily need, but it’s nice to know.

Opening case back of a new watch won't affect the warranty? Not sure if RSC can tell if case back is opened or not though

After leaving my Pepsi at the RSC on 27 October I picked it up yesterday. They did a full service under guarantee.

1 day is way too short, but since yesterday morning I 'won' 1 second, so seems to be running fine now. Really happy with it and having the watch back. Realized this month that the Pepsi is by far my favorite.

Wouldn't bother me even if it was well outside COSC to be honest. Life is too short for these things to bother me.

Hi guys, just a quick follow up.

Changed the date today om the Pepsi and set the time again.

It’s been about 5 months since I got it back from RSC, in this period it gained 70 secs. That’s about 0,47 secs a day, which is impressive.

Just wanted to share.
