Welcome! I'm sure you could pull off 31mm. There are many women that wear 36, 40 and bigger and wear it quite well. It's whatever your preference is.
Congrats in advance! |

Welcome to the forum. Exciting times!
I hope you get a chance to try on a variety of sizes. Stores will often have a full length mirror which helps you to see what they look like on you. Good luck! |

My wife has both a 28" and 31".
She's fairly short and slim (typical southern Chinese) and both the 28" and 31" look fine. She can even get away with some of my 36" vintages. This is just my opinion, but I think the 28" looks the best on her. I'm probably being traditional but they look a bit more feminine. Why not try some on? Tudor are a safe bet as they're probably the most similar to Rolex. |

Datejust / Datejust Lady : 28mm or 31mm
My wife wears a 28 and 31, too. She has 6” wrists, but is taller at 5’6”. I think she could wear a 36, but she insists it’s too big for her. Who am I to disagree?

31 mm should be fine. I’m 5’6” and wear 36 mm, and even bigger watches. But, I’m a watch nerd. Make sure to post pics when you get your new Rolex. Welcome to the forum.

Go with the 31mm!
The proportions of the 28mm are somewhat odd looking while on the wrist. My wife wears 31 - 36 watches and she is around your height at 100 lbs.

I think the one I gave my wife is a 28mm & wears very nicely on here. She is a petite woman though, very slim wrist.
I honestly think you can't go wrong with either size. And welcome to the forum! |

Welcome to the forum. Unless your wrist is supper tiny I'd go with 31mm. I find the 28mm difficult to read.

I personally like the previous gen 26mm best but who am I.
The Mrs now owns a 31 DJ and she thinks it’s the perfect size.

It depends on how much the case and lugs go over your wrist, how the bracelet feels, ans how you like each overall.
I’m 5’8” in bare feet, but my wrist is so small my pinky and thumb touch around it. I have a vintage 26mm ladies’ President DJ, a 29mm Yachtmaster, a vintage 31mm Tudor snowflake Sub, a 34mm Air King, and a 36mm DJ. I think could wear a 28mm. I find the 26mm to be too small to read well; it’s more like wrist jewelry, which is fine because it’s just for special occasions. Everyone thinks the 36mm looks best of all of my watches when I wear it, but I personally like the look and feel of my 29mm-31mm watches. Most of my Rolex wearing friends have a 26-28mm DJ, which look elegant and feminine on them. |

My wife is 5"2" and I got her a DJ28 many years ago. looking back I feel I should have gone for the 31mm.
My daughter is also 5'2" and I'm hoping to get a DJ31 or OP31 for her 21st birthday in September.

28mm for sure. The proportions are more elegant. Less is more with this exact configuration. I slightly prefer the yellow two tone gold diamond mother of pearl, over the rose gold, as it has a little more pizazz.
Maybe then get a 31mm OP if you desire something sporty/larger. I wish Rolex would come out with a lady's submariner...sorry, a little off topic. |

Welcome to the forum. My ex-wife is 5'3'' and wears a 40mm RG YM on OF. You can pull off any size you want.

How a watch wears really is most dependent on wrist size and wrist shape. Even a small wrist that has a flat shape can support a larger watch. My wife has a DJ 36, and DJ 41 that both wear just fine on her. She also has a 43 mm Omega that she loves and fits her well. As long as the lugs of the watch, don't overlap the edges of your wrist, I would say it just becomes preference from there.

Me, too! That’s why I have the BB58. Wears great on me. I wear all different sizes, but have no interest in anything below 34 mm. I wouldn’t be able to read the darn thing… Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

I am 5'5" and have a 28mm Lady Datejust -- Everose rolesor, fluted bezel, jubilee bracelet, with a Sundust stick dial. I think it's perfect.

Personal preference… try on different models / configurations. I fell in love with a Tudor 31 mm Roman numeral watch once but it felt too small to me. I’m 5’2” with slightly under 6” wrists. I agree with Kat & Michelle regarding legibility concerns with aging eyes. I own 34-39 mm watches. I’d love for Rolex to reissue a 34 OP.
Welcome aboard and happy shopping! |

Go with 28. There is a reason why Rolex call it lady Datejust. 31 should also be fine.
36 and 40 on female is a lack of taste. |

My wife has a 31mm, two tone, jubilee, white dial, looks great on her. She's 5'4" average build, I think even a 34mm would look great.
