St Mary's Church - Callington, Cornwall
Was in Callington today and took a couple of quick shots before Tam yelled at me to come along
Pretty little church, but on such a small plot at the end of High St it's really hard to get far enough back to get a good shot. Seems like I always have a 50mm standard lens on when I'm there Cheers, Bruce |

Nice picture Bruce passed though Callington a few times but never stopped to really look around the market town.Callington started life as a Celtic settlement called 'Celliwic' by the early Saxons, and quite a Welsh sounding name.

Thanks Padi and JJ! Really interesting history lesson there Padi! I didn't know that, and the name really does sound Welsh.
Architectually, Callington isn't nearly as nice as Launceston. The church is really it from what I've seen, although there are some nice murals around town. If the weather's nice again tomorrow, and Josh will cooperate, I want to get some shots of Launceston castle. Cheers, Bruce |
