They used that sub-plot and his book characters during several seasons.

McGee isn't just an agent as a character, he is a best selling, wealthy, author.

Except if you go back and watch S15 E1 at 31:48 mark, you'll see McGee grabbing a bad guy's Rolex.

Although that isn't his first Daytona? Huh, I gotta go back to the old seasons and look.

It seems Sean Murray got different watches after season 14-15 but this current season (currently season 21) he currently wears a Breitling Premier B01 Chronograph 42 AB0118A61C1A1, mostly likely his personal watch because he wears it off-set. I even submitted to Watch ID website.
