Bucherer Luzern
I was in Switzerland last week and stopped in Bucherer in Luzern. I was interested in seeing an Exp II Polar. The SA was really impressed with my 48 year old 1675 GMT. Here is what I walked out with ....

Yes, Bucherer is known for those spoons. I have a few of them.
Here is some history on it. https://www.lovetoknow.com/home/anti...s/rolex-spoons |

Nice John
I was there at Christmas and saw quite a few exhibition pieces including the YM Ti amoung others. Even though there was no chance of buying anything, I really enjoyed the visit especially the third floor with pre owned pieces. The staff were very welcoming |

Used to spoon feed you BS when they put your name down for a GMT or Sub.

Received the same back in 2013. Switzerland was beautiful and loved every place we visited.

This was the first watch store I ever stepped foot in during a summer vacation with my family in Switzerland and France in 1998.
My father purchased his first and only watch (at 61) a Bucherer Q gold plated quartz watch, which I wish I had…almost every day. My parents also purchased me my first watch at this store (at 13) during this trip, a 31mm Swiss Army Watch. They also were given this spoon and it was a running joke that year with their friends that this was the only Rolex they came back with. It’s funny timing because my oldest child turned 9 on Sunday and I just bought her her first watch, a Mission on Earth Moonswatch. She calls it “her Omega” and I don’t have the heart to correct her. I love this hobby, the memories and the stories that I hope we’ve all curated along the way. Enjoy your spoon in good health! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thanks for all the heartwarming stories. I'd love to hear more.
I love Switzerland. I fell in love with the SBB and have been back to the country 21 times since 1994 strictly for railroad photography and enjoy train riding. I always try to find a little time during every trip to stop at one Bucherers or another. Most of the time I'm not even trying to buy anything. In 1983 my wife and I were given a personal tour of the Rolex headquarters building. I was also here in Geneva. Across the street from the famous flower clock. A lot of people inside. Got to try on a blue-black GMT but nothing for sale. IMG_9424b.JPG |

As we do not have ebay here in Switzerland, there are many of these Rolex spoons for buying/auctioning on our most popular site. I was auctioning as well there to complete my collection. Usually you get this Bucherer "Rolex" spoon when you buy your Rolex at the corresponding Bucherer city branch. Some of the spoons are rare and more expensive.

Still waiting. Anyone want this Bucherers spoon? $10 incl. postage (US). Otherwise it will just get lost in a drawer of junk. |

Have you done the cogwheel on Mt. Pilatus? They have watch store at the top which seems like a unique place to buy a watch.

As kids, we used to eat ice cream with little Rolex spoons like that. I wish they had been saved…. Probably were chewed up in the garbage disposal between 1982 and 1985.
