Just an aside question for those using 5524G/R. Have you ever ordered the stainless steel buckle for your watch? The limited edition 5522A has a SS buckle, so my guess is that it should be ok to order from the service center right?

I love the no nonsense IWC pilot watches from the 1990s and 2000s such as the Mark XII and XV and the 3706 chrono. In contrast, I am no fan of the 5524 design, Patek or not. I also don't like the similar Zenith design. The fact that 5524 is only avaliable in PM doesn't help. The 5522 looks a lot cleaner and comes in steel but I am not terribly tempted.

I’m not a fan of this particular reference (the pushers remind me of Shrek’s head) but in the metal it is a handsome watch.

What's next a Patek vintage inspired dive watch in white gold with worldtimer and 30m water resistance for 100k
