Tudor 7996/0 missing bezel

Hi everyone! first of all apologies if i'm posting this on the wrong place.

I got a Tudor oysterdate with a 2484 movement from eBay, (at a really good price so hopefully taking the caseback off everything is gonna look ok 😅)

Anyways, the first thing I need to take care of is the missing bezel. I searched for this specific watch parts (reference number on the side is 7996/0), but I can’t seem to find a specific bezel for this, neither original or aftermarket. Can someone help me identify the appropriate bezel to put on this? I can imagine this watch shares the case with some rolex of that time, but I have absolutely no idea which one.

I was watching that on ebay - good pickup!

How different are the smooth bezels on the Tudor 34mm case? I am sure the devil is in the detail but they all look pretty similar to me. Could be worth searching under other 34mm plexi model numbers.

I have a plexi 90520 and I note searching Tudor bezel 34mm brings up a few options, mostly aftermarket:

Thank you, yeah that was a good pickup indeed!
Yes I see a lot of aftermarket bezels which could fit, the problem is that most of those have an inside diameter of 29.2 - 29.3 mm, and I measured the outside of my plexi crystal at 28.8 mm.

I ordered a genuine rolex 6694 one I found for cheap on ebay which measures 29.1 mm, but that was the closest I could find. Is there an acceptable tolerance to consider, or should the bezel diameter be the exact same measure of the plexi outside diameter?

Hmmm... bezel needs to be tight to the plexi so it should be a tiny bit smaller than the plexi, effectively, for water tightness. Are you sure it's the original plexi? Maybe just put there so it protected the dial? Odd thing to lose, a bezel... maybe the plexi was replaced with one with too small an OD and it fell off?

Yeah actually my mistake, I didn’t set the caliber correctly crystal actually measures 29.2-29.3, so with a 29.16 bezel (the rolex 6694 one I ordered) I should be good since it’s a bit tighter. Is there a way to put it on without a bezel press though?

Yeah actually my bad, i forgot to set my caliber correctly 😅 my crystal actually measures 29.2-29.3, so with the 6694 bezel I ordered measuring 29.16 I should be good since it's slightly tighter. Is there a way of putting it on without a bezel press though?

I was going to say; I had another look for you and came up with this at 29.0mm

https://rafflesdials.com/stainless-s...ce-watch-case/

Sounds like what you have coming should work though, which is good! Suspect you will need a press but even cheap ones likely won't work as the dies are normally quite shallow and won't clear the plexi. I have ruined a plexi that way! Thankfully it was a cheap 3rd party plexi as a test.

Safest bet is to get it to a watchmaker but I am sure pretty much 'anyone' (appropriate) will do that for you. If you can get it over and seated with your fingers and thumbs, it is highly unlikely to be tight enough.
