Chrono24 buyers protection

I'm looking at purchasing a watch from Tarrytown jewelers in NY on chrono24. Has anyone used their buyers protection policy?
1. If I get the watch and simply don't like how it fits, it seems I can send it back, no questions and get a refund.
2 does this refund include taxes paid also? I'm assuming yes.
3. If I like the watch and decide to keep it I would like it checked by my local RSC. Does chrono24 give you a hard time if you want to do this? I read you have to have prior authorization from chrono24 to have a watch opened. Is "to have it checked for authentication " enough for an authorization from them?
I've read good things about Tarrytown, should I even bother with verifying authenticity. It does come with box and papers.

when you say i don't like how it fits alarms go off.

online purchases should be when you can't find the watch "in person" at the price you want. but you should find it - and try it on and make sure you like it - (case in point, although the 42mm explorer 2 fits me fine, the 42mm skydweller is way too big on the wrist).

lastly, do business with trusted sellers on any and all sites. you don't want anyone opening the watch. you want to buy it from someone who is established.

good luck.

That's exactly my dilemma. I'm 99% sure I'll love the watch but can't find it anywhere near, within 6 hours drive, to actually put one on and see how it fits/looks.

Buyer’s protection isn’t buyer’s preference.

The money back guarantee is for defective or not as described.

OP
Tarrytown Jewelers is in Hartsdale, NY. They are a brick and mortar store and considered reputable. Why not contact directly, I would think a better price than going thru Chrono 24

Chrono24
Is your watch defective, malfunction, not as the seller described or does not meet your expectation? No worries! You have 14 days (after the day of delivery) to initiate a return and receive a full refund quickly and easily thanks to our global money-back guarantee.

Wouldn't that be covered under "does not meet expectation". It doesn't fit as expected?

I've purchased directly from them before after finding it on chrono. Good business easy transaction.

Visit?

Once a watch gets to a certain price, flying to see it in person becomes quite a sensible option. Tarrytown's store is very close to Westchester County Airport, so depending on where you are, a flight on American, Delta, or JetBlue should be quite cheap relative to the cost of a watch. For example, on a $10K watch, a $300-$400 flight is nothing. I've done this: Fly so that I arrive in the morning, look at watch, make decision, fly back in afternoon.

I would not buy a watch that I had not tried on.

You’ve got a great trusted seller right in your own state

Why not contact Chase at Nashville watches and see if he can source the watch you are looking for?

Also FWIW, his prices are very competitive

I am not affiliated with them

I have dealt with Steve at Tarrytown more than once. Overall good guy, worth giving him a call directly and discussing. He’d certainly give you a better price than going through Chrono as well.

I generally take "does not meet expectation" to mean that the watch doesn't meet the expectation of what is presented in the listing, not just that it didn't fit well. Chrono24 is not there to help you do a facilitate fit test. If you want to test the fit, you should go to a brick and mortar store. That's also one of the advantages to to them and why they charge more.
