Icon4 So looks like Datejusts are now finally getting the AR treatment (same as sub)

I put myself down for the polar Exp2 and surprisingly the white dial DJ41 on jubilee. My rep showed me the white dial for another customer and I fell in love with it. One of the things I noticed immediately was how well it handled the store reflections.

I asked my rep and she confirmed the new datejusts now have AR coating on the whole crystal (bottom only)...same as new sub/daytona/Exp2.

And she also confirmed none of the gmt2 have this yet..only the Sprite does.

It's so weird that Rolex doesnt market this feature on their website to this day where as every other brand does.

So if ya've been planning to buy a DJ, get a '24 release to enjoy the AR coating!!

White dialed DJ is a great one so clean and understated yet pops a bit and has a sense of flash as well. Hope it comes in soon for you.

Some non sprite gmts on here have been found to have AR I remember reading. SAs don’t know a lot of things. Datejust since about 2022 have had AR too. I got an AR crystal installed by RSC last year on my 126710BLNR and my dads DJ41

I think my new BLNR had it but my one from 2021 didn’t have it.

The Datejusts have this for a while now. At least 12 months. Maybe more.
I would not buy a Rolex without AR anymore. Black dials really pop.

And yes, most sales reps are clueless. The last one I talked has never heard of AR…
Others claim it’s on the outside. Some say it’s on both sides. Absolute clueless

It’s fair to say the vast majority of members on here know more about the watches than the typical sales rep.

I believe all DJ’s post 2021 have it. Got my BLNR in August of 2023 and it has it. I believe all OP’s, DJ, GMT’s & Subs post 2021 all have it.

I think the white dial DJ 41 is a perfect watch. I'll never understand why the white dial is less desired. I have the slate index dial and I routinely lust over the white dial.

I have a relatively new DJ41 (2022) and GMT (2023). I also have an older Submariner ((2017).

When I have some free time today, I’ll take a closer look. I know my Sub has glare issues. My newer watches might be better. But I just never really noticed to be honest.

Will Rolex put an AR crystal on a newer watch that didn’t come with it originally? Say a 114060 or a 216570? I feel like they should be more
Lenient with crystals than other types of mods

Probably not. They like to keep them original. An independent jeweler with a Rolex parts account can do it, though.

Have to agree but A/R coating would far down my list of importance in any watch.

Noticed this on my new GRNR, whereas that wasn't the case with my previous GMT's.

Wish they did double AR. The concerns around double AR "scratching" are kind of silly because if it does scratch the coating can be removed easily, so the downside isn't really there.

I’m not positive but I am confident my 2022 BLNR has the AR coating.

My 23 BLNR has the AR coating. It’s deal and it’s breathe taking.

Agree with those who desire the white dials. Super clean and a great change from the usual black dials and blue dials. White is highly recommended if you want something a bit different.

Not me, it’s all about legibility

Don’t understand why Tudor does this but not Rolex

Yes, with a full service they say currently, although they did put a replacement AR crystal on a 16570 a few years ago without a service when I brought it in for just a pressure check. Looking to get one for my Sub 14060, one of the worst offenders when it comes to glare

That would bother me, if it had AR coating on the outside that got scratched. It would look awful. Removing Outer AR coating can be an arduous task, unless you’re comfortable using a dremel.

If you’re crystal has an AR coating it will be marked in the LEC.

Mine was delivered to the AD in late 2023, so probably has AR. If I feel like driving myself crazy, I can search for the LEC, and verify that.
