My question would be more like: do you spend that much $ on the WG Sub or the WG DD (Olive).

Anyway, poking out from under the sleeve of his beautiful sport coat and cuffed sleeve, was none other than this watch you’re wearing. Man was it ever stunning. He must’ve thought I was a middle aged stalker I just couldn’t take my eyes off his watch.

Thanks Brian! I do remember this story you shared with us and you could not have described it any better for the affect it has and portrays. It really is mesmerizing

I wonder how often those of us living in big cities may actually have clocked a fellow TRFers watch but never knew it...

either

Have both and both can dress up or down. Probably wear the sub more. Cannot go wrong with either.

Several comments that you can buy both in steel for the price of one . . . Maybe so, but white gold watches have a much more solid feel than stainless, and I’ve come to like that. I appreciate that most people assume they are one more stainless watch, and that’s fine with me.

I have a white gold President and I think 99% of people assume it’s another stainless Datejust and it flies under the radar in the way a yellow gold watch won’t.

May I suggest either of these watches in white gold is something you buy for how you feel, as most others won’t know. For me, that is what I prefer. I want to have the nicer and more solid piece, but I don’t want to shout it out like yellow gold does.

I quite agree with this - the white gold is kind of one of those "IYKYK" watches, and I like that subtlety.

This actually happened to me once in Toronto a few years ago. I was at the Panerai Boutique at Yorkdale and another client happened to notice my AP Royal Oak Offshore on a white rubber strap. He overheard me saying where I am from and he asked me if my name was Nick! I was taken aback and he said he knows me from TRF! Holy $hit what was funny

I always prefer GMT. Have owned all versions of both WG GMT and WG Subs.

I've wondered this every time I've walk by someone with a cool watch...I wonder if he is on TRF....

We need a TRF t-shirt to increase the odds of spotting one another.
