This is the correct response.

I don't understand people questioning the quality of Rolex...Compared to what??? Also, what other brand has as deep of a resale market as Rolex? There will always be a buyer. That fact adds to the cost and value of any Rolex as well

Rolex manufacturing quality is second to none. Some design hiccups but in terms of execution and consistency, as well as tolerances, they are a global leader and have sustained that leadership for a long time.

Someone might not like the aesthetic, brand positioning, mass produced elements, etc… but the quality leadership is indisputable.

What Rolexes do you own?

What other watches do you own that you are comparing a Rolex to?

What do you mean by "wore out faster"?

I still want to know how a Rolex (or any watch for that matter) has "worn out"

I mean, does it simply fall apart? Do parts just start falling off? Does it turn to dust?

Please elaborate.

Only Rolex is Rolex and it's always worth it, it depends on your reason for buying it.
If compared to other watches you could tell the it's a Rolex, you can also see it to be an investment.

Your friend will never be satisfied with any other brand--he needs to buy a Rolex and will never regret it!

Probably a troll, because that story is nonsensical!

Thru the years I have owned Tag Heuer, Tudor, Panerai, Seiko, Timex, Breitling, Christopher Ward, Hamilton, Steinhart, and others that escape me.
Both of my sons are currently wearing Steinhart Submariners as their daily. These watches are well made, ETA movements, ceramic bezels, the total cost for the 2 of them is about $1000. These watches are at least 5-6 years old, never been serviced and both run like tops. Hell to an untrained eye, they look like Rolex Subs.
We can argue that they are not Rolexes, we can argue quality, tradition, in house movement, materials, etc., and while that is all correct, in terms of functionality, who cares?
The truth is, we BS ourselves about all of this, because we have a want, we have the money to afford, and we have a perception that makes Rolex better than other brands, and worth every penny, regardless of the model and it's cost.
My Tag Chrono was my first luxury watch. It's probably 10 years old, never been serviced, last of the Tags with ETA movements, runs like a top. I paid $2500 NIB for it on a sale. My son wears it often when he dresses up.
My other son wears my Tudor BB GMT. It's at least 6 years old, never serviced, runs like a top, paid $3600 for it NIB, he wears it when he dresses up or goes to business meetings.
I say all of this and admit that I have owned 6 Rolexes, and have enjoyed them all. I currently own 3, and I would buy another if I got the inclination. But I have to admit to myself that a large part of the reason for owning this many Rolex watches, is perception and want.
So in my mind, there are lots of watches out there, and most of them are excellent watches, but if your mind wants a Rolex and you perceive it is the best watch/value on the market, then for you it is. Enjoy!
I agree with this.

I still have, and occasionally wear, the Seiko quartz that my mam bought me about 48 years ago. It's had a few batteries and never needed any sort of servicing and still keeps good time. I would say that that's very good value for money.

The same goes for my TAG chrono 2000 bought about 30 years ago. I think it's been serviced twice and had maybe four or five batteries. I think this is also good value for money.

Monetarily, non of my Rolex or Omega watches can compare to these, especially the Seiko.

To ask is a Rolex worth it's cost just as a watch I would they aren't, but if you add in the enjoyment factor I would say some are.

It goes without saying that it’s all about personal perception. I own lots of brands that I enjoy wearing; probably more brands than anyone else here. However, I enjoy wearing my Rolexes a bit more than the less popular, and yes less expensive ones.

I've been 'wearing out' my 14060M (no date Sub) Rolex since 2005. For the first 19 years I wore it daily, but now that I've recently added a new DateJust 41, it shares wrist time, but when not worn remains on the Wolf winder. It has been flawless and still looks brand new, yet I have worn it all over the world as well as when working, working out, doing masonry, laying tile, installing flooring, wiring and plumbing. Wear it out? My guess is that anyone who has claimed 'wearing out' a Rolex never actually owned one. The Navy SEALs I operated with on nuclear submarines in the 1980s also 'wore out' Rolexes.

What does “ wore out faster” mean? Not sure what the measure of that looks like. A very subjective topic.

Buying the most affordable Rolex just to have a Rolex isn’t a recipe to really enjoy a watch. Find what you like, and buy that.

Based on your beliefs that Rolex are less durable and wear out faster than others in a similar price range, I couldn't even hazard a guess.

We're already too far apart in our thinking for my opinion to matter much.
