The End Is Near....

I hate to be doom-and-gloom, but my guess is that a planet-killing asteroid will take us out much sooner than that. I’m not saying in the next 500 to 1,000 years, but it’s inevitable.

I like Scott Adams' "Law of Slow-moving Disasters".

Humanity has always overcome any far-off looming threat, and always will.

Right now we piddle around with space travel, etc. What if we KNEW the asteroid was coming in 100 years (as we would). We'd concentrate, and deflect or destroy it.
