Rolex Explorer 39mm Crown Wobble.

Today I was setting the time on my Rolex Explorer 39mm and realized the crown 'wobbles' quite a bit with my fingers. You can rock it back and forth. The stem also moves with this motion a small amount as well. Is this normal? I also checked my 16710 and the crown does have a small amount of wobble but not nearly as much.

Thanks in advance.

I just took my Explorer II off and checked this. There is quite a bit of vertical play when the crown is all the way out. I've never noticed it before. It must be normal because it came back from a RSC service two weeks ago.

Normal for Rolex. My omegas don’t do it.

Yup! It’s normal. Just something inherent in the design of the stem and crown assembly.

I've noticed that before also on my Rolex and I don't know that it's on every watch that I have but it's not a problem as long as the screw down still goes down and you get a nice feel of tightness you're good to go that's my opinion
