Ultimate watch case…

At least for me!

After years of working on this idea (and countless iterations), I finally received the first sample of my dream watch case. I'm excited to share it with you and would love to hear your feedback.

Here are some renders:

It's made of aluminum, and the interior will be lined with Alcantara to keep the watches snug and protected.

Depending on price point, I think it looks superb … I think it looks very modern ..

Awesome! Just don't try to charge $1000 for it.

Looks awesome OP!

My only concern or question would be around the likelihood of catching a watch on the aluminium case when placing one into or removing one from the case. I guess this is perhaps why most cases are made of a soft material.

Be good to see a little more of the interior too. Again looks stunning

Plus points:
- looks great - love the design
- I like aluminium and alcantara
- I like the latches
- I like the way the compartments lift out.

Less sure about:
- that looks expensive
- linked to point 1, does it scratch? I don’t want to have to worry about the watch case!
- not sure on size - that looks quite large for my watch drawer but I guess it looks good enough to sit out

If being critical I would worry about the dividers scratching the sides of the watches. Its nice to look at.

Do you really think it will be so expensive, that it worth to put into a deposit box?

Maybe you are right

Anyhow, this box looks great. Not necessary the most practical, but surely awesome.

This has always been my concern with my Rimowa watch case. Have to be so delicate placing any metal watches in there

I imagine his intention is to put the case in the safety deposit box with watches in it.

questions:

are the divider rails made of aluminum or plastic?

are the latches secure in the event of a drop?
ie are they fastened with some tension vs just a light click?

will you make any other colors? sizes?

as far as the aluminum case scratching the watches, i am not so concerned.
I would expect that would be a remote concern as steel is harder than aluminum?

I very much like the seperation and protection inside the case for each watch..
too many watch cases fail horribly by allowing the watches to bang together inside

The aluminum oxide that makes up the outer layer of the metal will scratch steel. But, that is a minor risk. One would have to be careless with their watches to have that problem.

My concern is the aluminum deforming if I drop the case. How durable is the case to dings and dangs? Does it come in titanium?

OP, it’s an interesting looking case. I’d like to see more of the interior and how the dividers work. Thanks for posting

I like it. What are you using to keep the watches?
