Lange Odysseus Blue dial steel vs grey dial wg

The blue dial steel Odysseus has always been much harder to get from Lange compared to the WG and this was reflected in the much higher secondary values of the blue.

However, as the watch market has weakened, I’ve noticed (looking at chrono24 which isn’t necessarily the best indicator!) the relative gap between the blue and WG has narrowed considerably to only a few thousand dollars.

Any thoughts on why?

All of the very difficult to find references have come down in price relative to their list price. The white gold version is much closer to it's list price than ever before. The steel version is still double it's list price, but not 3x like before. This softening of after market prices have thus narrowed the difference between the two references. IMO

The SS Odysseus Ref 363.179 is not even close to double its retail price. The retail price is $39,100 USD + Tax and there are quite a few listed in the mid $50's.

The WG Odysseus retail is $55.200 USD + tax right now you can get in the high $40K's USD which is below their list price. And there are quite a few listed.

I was at a Lange Boutique 2 weeks ago and you can get again in the SS Odysseus if you buy a Lange 1 or another piece in that bracket.

I think they will do down more, they are always quite a few being offered. I love the WG Odysseus and have been checking the market constantly for some months now.

I can tell you in all honesty, this watch has vaulted to my top 2. Such a great reference, both the white gold and steel.. Can't go wrong. I couldn't play the game so I traded in 2 special pieces to get this beauty. I now want a Lange 1 !
