<<< more money than sense? >>>

I’m not sure where to begin ….

This piece of “artwork” just sold to a crypto entrepreneur for $6.2 million.

It’s making me rethink that Rolex ARE good investments

The story in the link below …

The crypto entrepreneur deserves it. Every $6.2 million of it.

That's a terrible deal, I would give him a whole bunch of bananas for that!

This crypto “entrepreneur” may very well be a scam artist and fraudster. Not surprising. The auction purchase reflects that segment… it is embarrassing that we may head down a path of further legitimizing this BS.

Crsytal Bridges (art museum in NW Arkansas) once had a performance art piece that was a truckload of individually wrapped hard candy dumped on the floor. It was performance art because you were encouraged to eat the candy. I wonder what it would have sold for? Billions, maybe?

What kind of orange? Having the right variety makes a huge difference.

Haters gonna hate, tho. i remember when BTC was a few pennies. Wonder if the kid who wasted tens of thousands btc on pizza is kinda regretting that today.

From the article...
Lucius Elliot, head of contemporary marquee sales at Sotheby's, said there has been much debate over "whether this is art, whether it is a prank, whether it is a symbol of the excess of the art market".

"In truth, it is, of course, all of those things," he concluded.

And now, from the wayback machine, 60 years ago the same was essentially said about this:

And buyers didn't even get the requisite grilled cheese sandwich.

The optimist in me says he eats the bunch and realizes there's millions to be made by the time he's at the last banana. $8M if it's organic.

Well, I am going to duct tape my Datejust2 to a nice composite panel....this should fetch more than this banana thing. I will enter it in the auction immediately as Crypto millionaires are back in full force.
