Battle of the SS heavy hitters. Which one would you keep?

If you were offered both but could only buy one at retail which one would you choose?

Just a fun hypothetical one. I own both. Will always have both.

At retail they are ~26k together and pretty hard to imagine as heavy hitters.
That being said, I’d buy the new daytona in black if I was offered…

Hence the SS moniker. Secondary would be over $50k for the pair. Even at retail I would say $26k is a lot of money for most people to spend on 2 SS watches.

That would make them heavily hyped modern watches IMO…
Nice watches, but not heavy hitters to me…
I think of heavy hitters as being hard to come by and seldom seen…

I would be happy to have such a first-world problem. That's why I would ask the AD for a Coca Cola.

GMT… fairly easy decision…. I actually use the GMT complication and find the Daytona harder to read…. If the Daytona was a 16520 then it would be a much tougher choice.

What a problem to have

I was offered both at retail and chose the GMT.

The Daytona always wins the popularity contest, if this was set up as a poll

Since the white Daytona was the watch that got me looking for a second Rolex in 2016, I'd have to say that one.

It's funny when I think about it: these threads always bring out some Daytona haters, but I never read the same animosity for GMTs or Pepsis.

Keep/choose whatever you like!

The Daytona, would resell it and put the money into a WG GMT.
My AD asks me often do I want a steel Daytona, I don’t. But never asked about a gmt. I think they must be harder to get.

The GMT and Sub are in the same comparison category. I know it’s been fun lately hypothetically to compare a GMT to a Daytona but the SS Daytona is in another level and the tip of the Rolex spear and always will be. Really not a fair comparison even if you disregarded popularity and just went on their movements alone.

I know ???????

That’s because the Daytona is THE king and brings out those that like to take pop shots from the side line. It’s actually a psychological confirmation the Daytona is clearly the top dog.
