Daytona service bezel question?

If I take it to RSC, they will recommend replacing the white gold bezel because certain numbers are scratched/faded. Should I keep original? My ultimate question is if it’s like replacing a dial and service dials have a bad rap? Does the service bezel have a different design then period specific - mine is a 2007 Z serial 116509

Great question! I've always kinda wondered about this as well. Regarding replacement bezels on any model of sports watch actually. I know that people are able to tell service dials and hands, but any telltale signs in the bezels?

My thoughts exactly. Is it like a class where it has a code that helps identify the year? Or a service dial where you know it’s been replaced?

I had a YG Daytona service by Rolex USA a number of years ago. The bezel was replaced for wear. They kept the old bezel and it returned looking new. The cost was not super expensive but I can not remember the specifics.

I’m not sure you have an option to keep original. Now if it fell out and you lost it and sent it in without the insert then they would demand a new bezel insert.
