I am not a yellow gold guy either but I would wear this. I don't follow Daytona's that closely, but what is the list price on this one at an AD? I get these are special, and impossible to get, but was just curious on the price. I don't see it on the Rolex site.

It was interesting wearing it at work today.

Work was not great but when I felt bad or tired I looked down at my wrist and thought, “By the power of Le Mans…. I HAVE THE POWER!!!!” and then I went up and got another cup of coffee.

Wow Louis ... that's one hell of a pickup. Congrats!

When the WG version came out, I asked my AD to be put on the list. They laughed and said they only were getting one (1) ever, and it was going to a person involved with professional racing. No way anyone else would be considered, and I was there very first customer with a 9 watch (2 PM) history with them.

I think that's why people have a hard time believing it was a "walk in" (completely out of the blue) purchase.

Oh yes they shouldn’t believe it other than the fact that I did physically walk into the store and purchase it; but I am definitely not a “walk in”.

I would have really liked the WG version but I have to be honest that when they discontinued it and switched to YG I was elated. There’s just something about YG!

This one you can really see the difference in black between the bezel and the dial.

Thanks everyone.

I’m doing a lot of travel the next few weeks and Le Mans had to go into the vault. It was a sad moment for me.

My wife said it’s ok and Le Mans will be back in a couple weeks but I feel like a part of me is missing.

It’s $50400; which I think is less expensive than the WG which was surprising as obviously I prefer YG.

I believe the WG version price was $51,400 when it was released so you got a deal on the YG!

This is a pretty amazing acquisition and I love seeing real life pictures of these rare references. I feel like we only see these land on celebs or pro athletes.

Does your AD only sell Rolex or do you have a long history of purchasing other brands from them as well?

These days they sell a fairly tight selection but over the years they have come and gone. My collection has pieces from most of the brands they have sold over the years.

They also have a lot of high end jewelry, which obviously helps if you like high end jewelry (we do).

Some jewelry brands it’s similar to watches in that you’re buying a limited edition with only a few examples produced, so sometimes there is demand for those allocations even outside of the “service area” of the AD like there would be for watches.

In fact I’m wearing a ring like that right now. Was produced in one year only as a limited edition.
