So, given that you just did this, I am curious….

Are you doing this as a lifestyle choice to only have a part time home base somewhere and travel the world as much as possible?

I ask as a friend has considered hopping from cruise to cruise for a couple of years and storing his possessions until he gets tired and wants to settle down somewhere.

Interesting route. Unusual to see a world cruise that doesn't touch Asia at all.

We are taking the opportunity to travel whilst we can. Our intention is to be away from Tenerife during the winter time and by chance it coincides with most world cruises and it being the busy winter sun tourist season so as we rent our property out we get the best return

I suspect we have one more world cruise in us by then we would have done 99% of the ports these shops can reach and may take a few years out but it's kinda addictive tbf.

Arrived in Triviso and suitably settled in a very nice hotel closer to Venice itself.

I guess we have too much icy water here

Have a great time on your cruise OP. Starting and ending in Italy would suit us just fine

the issue is that the Suez being closed causes havoc with itinaries as it forces ships round Africa. The WC which we were booked on they clipped the far East out and added 10 more sea days instead. Luckily for us as they offered a full refund so as we didn't fancy that we cancelled and booked this..

But there's always next year which assuming the Suez is open includes the Far East and India we are already looking at that one starting Nov 2025 but we reserve judgement as we haven't tried this cruise line before.

Well it's the frosty morning of boarding.
We are staying at the Venice resort hotel near the airport.
Great room and breakfast included for 85 euro's.

Back to the airport at 09.15 to get the shuttle for a 2.5 coach ride to the port. Board ship at 13.00 all being well

Looks like a great embark and first day.

Beautiful photo, this one is:

I'm no mariner, but I don't think this ship...

Will fit under this bridge even at low tide...

So weather proved to be worse than forecasted. Thunder and lightning strong winds and driving rain means we stay on board instead of braving it.

Lunch was nice food is proving to be very good standard.

Day 3 is a sea day so just a bit of padding around

I thought the hot tubs looked inviting and were under a roof?

Soaking and sipping champagne all day...such are the things that dreams are made of...

Have a wonderful trip, looking forward to watching the progress via photos.

Not sure I could do 131 days, went for 16 days in October, and I was itching to be home after 13.
