So you don't feel triggered?

So... GOAT, how much do you think we can get for New Jersey, considering their debt and upkeep costs? The infrastructure is troublesome, needs updating. What would you charge for fixing New Jersey's core services?

It was not a personal attack, hence the chuckle. You could have sent a PM if you were offended.

New Jersey is a gold mine. Just the fees on hazardous waste disposal alone are staggering. Think how much could be made on tolls for commuting home from the city. It boggles the mind.

Not in the slightest.

Also, I know nothing about NJ or its accomplishments or problems, so I cannot accurately answer this. I do know some great people that live there though.

I believe this has something to do with the new Jaguar branding.

Can't remember where I read it, but some are speculating that something nasty may have come through the Ports there, and the drones are searching for it.

What I read specifically was along the lines of, "drones are looking for Weapon(s) of Mass Destruction" and would rather have mass confusion than reveal they are looking for a nuclear weapon that made it through the ports.

All with a grain of salt of course, who knows....

Funny how weak NJ is.

My cousins who served in the military are saying that. They’re saying it’s definitely a military operation and they’re searching for WMDs that may have entered our country via the ports (possibly from the ports along the Hudson River on the Jersey side). A lot of ex-military folks are apparently posting something similar to that all over the internet.

Lovely, just lovely. It would be better if they were aliens from Beta Reticuli.

Of course, like you, I’m taking all that with a grain of salt, too…

Also, the Governor of Maryland is now saying he just saw about a dozen super-sized drones over his house. He recorded them and that’s all over the internet now.

Looks like the Drone Kabuki Theater might simply be a way to help pass something in DC.

Yawn.

And here i was hoping it was aliens, or drones becoming self-aware and multiplying on their own. Ah well.... typical shake and bake.

Nuclear weapons are pretty dirty, from a radiation perspective. They have a bright signature that can be observed from sensors in low earth orbit. It's unlikely anyone would use drones to look for a nuke.

They are pushing a law now to give local law enforcement authority over the air space - Barney Fife shooting down drones is a scary thought.

Like many here, I've been following a lot of the imagery posted online. Some of the swarms are clearly the landing lights of aircraft lined up for approach to a major airport. The beams of white light are landing lights for aircraft on approach to the airport. The flashing green and red lights are required navigation lights at night. Someone even posted a picture of a USMC Osprey calling it a large drone.

The hysteria has led to people looking into the night sky with a purpose for the first time, and assigning anything they see to the drone bucket. The people that look at the sky all the time are seeing the stuff that's up there every night.

Ahhhhhhh, makes sense. Guess newbies should consider using FlightRadar24.

https://www.flightradar24.com

But can we hope for aliens from outer space too? C'mon, we need something new to entertain us.

Get the paid version. It has much better detail.

Unfortunately, the people that look up and see the colored lights on a 777 and call 911 are not likely to be able to relate Flightradar 24 graphics to what they see out their car window.

Wife has the paid version, she's a serious stalker.... seriously.

j/k

n/k as she really does have the paid version.

.
.
PS: Maybe they're FERAL Drones, the result of lost drones in the 'wild' mating and birthing feral drones.

You could be right. Or, it could be the Tycho monolith controlling drones from 15 meters below the surface of the moon. We need to get Artemis up there to check it out.

I'm hoping somone gets a swarm of 2000 drones and has them looking like a Klingon Bird-Of-Prey including an 'invisibility' shield (turning lights off).

See, we should not have wasted all that money on war here on Earth.... instead of smartly building an intergalactic warship. Act global, think local.

My mom says they’re actually looking for a dirty bomb. Which is interesting because I was thinking the drones themselves could be the dirty bomb in that they could fly around dropping material, presumably people would have noticed.

A drone engineer and an ex-military guy initially said that and then it went viral. But if that were really the case, these drones would be operational 24/7. Right? They wouldn’t be flying only at night. At least I wouldn’t think so.

Whatever the case may be, I’m not buying anything coming from the DOD or Homeland Security.

Also, we got to the point where the pictures and videos of jet planes and helicopters sort of threw shade at the whole thing. Now it’s easy for govt officials to dismiss all of it.

Most of the pictures online were commercial planes and helicopters. People were looking at the airliners in the airport traffic pattern and reporting drone swarms. The fact of the matter is that most of the reported drone activity is normal commercial traffic, but people don't know what they are looking at and the mob is running scared.

Are there drones flying? Certainly. Police, TV stations, commercial applications, and John Q Public all have drones in the air every day. But that's not illegal, nefarious, or a threat to our democracy. What is a threat to our democracy is the paranoia and hysteria that surrounds this story. People are pushing to allow the local police to shoot at aircraft, just in case they are drones, which maybe, possibly, might be up to no good. It's crazy, but hysteria like this is how the government is empowered to intrude ever more into our lives.

There’s no threat to democracy here. But I agree that a lot of the footage I saw is nothing more than jet planes flying into Newark. Also, this became like a snake eating itself. Hundreds and hundreds of people began flying drones to look for the drones, so then you ended up with much more drones in the sky than usual. And that just threw gasoline on the fire.

There is no "loose" nuke and even if there was drones wouldn't be the way to find them.

So basically it seems people in NJ are stupid ??? Why all the complaints, and why did this stupidity make it into national news? Slow news week? Diversion? Meh, was really hoping for aliens.
