No Taylor Swift concert, but next best thing thanks to TRF friendship!

As some of you know, I was actively trying to find tickets for Taylor Swift's concerts in November in Canada. I had no such luck, so my teenage daughter had to deal with many of her friends who did see her live. Of course, they blasted it all over social media, so we had to coach our daughter on how to deal with "you can't always get what you want." Good lesson. The reality is, I could have coughed up 3-4k per ticket to send my wife and daughter, but I could not get caught up with this craziness.

So, some TRF members were lucky enough to attend the concert. The weekend of the Vancouver concert had one particular TRF member who did attend the Vancouver concert. He remembered that my daughter wanted to attend, but she had no such luck. He reached out to me, while in Vancouver for the Taylor Swift concert and offered to purchase some memorabilia for my daughter of the Taylor Swift. I was shocked, surprised, and completely overwhelmed that he remembered this. So, I asked him to buy a Taylor Swift Sweatshirt for her concert tour. This member shipped it from Vancouver to us with some Taylor Swift bracelets. My daughter has no idea, she will get this incredibly hot/desirable item for Christmas. This sweatshirt is about $100, and they are selling on eBay or other sites for $500. Nuts.

I wanted to thank Steve aka Carguy87. A genuine good soul, a good family man. This place has so many friendships that were nurtured through the love and passion of watches. Thanks, Carguy87 (Steve).

Great story. I had the misfortune of going to the final show in Vancouver as “security” for my wife and some of our friends (all women). The place was packed full of women it was insane and I’m still trying to process it.

Classy move by Carguy87! He follows a long tradition seen often on TRF. I've been the recipient of this generosity many times over the years.

Well done!

Carguy87 or Steve, certainly seems to be an upstanding member of this community, that's a lovely gesture.

Personally, if Taylor Swift was playing in my back garden, I'd draw the curtains closed.

An outstanding gesture from Steve and a wonderful life lesson for your daughter Nicholas. Sure you could afford the tix, but life's lesson was at work here where you taught your daughter that there's a limit to what disposable income can go towards and there's always a silver lining where you least expect it with Steve's offer.

Thanks Nick glad I could do something nice for your family and I appreciate your continued friendship and the shout out!

We have an awesome community here; I was recently the recipient of some great generosity from Beo2 who hooked me up with a brand new watch roll after I posted about a disappointing online shopping experience buying a crappy one.

Stoked to be a member of our TRF family!

That’s what I love about this forum. We have some incredibly kind, thoughtful folks here

Kudos @carguy87 Steve, you contributed to making a members daughters Christmas extra special through your thoughtfulness. It’s easy to talk the talk … it’s another thing to walk the walk

BTW, Nicholas, you are outstanding in your own right. I appreciate you and your kindness toward me especially with regards to my dad. Gestures don’t have to be grand, sometimes just some kind words spoken with intent, makes all the difference and I very much appreciate it.

Merry Christmas
