There are lots of watches missing from the list but it was an informal vote which is nothing more than a personal popularity contest. The Rolex DateJust is #24 and the Cartier Tank Cintrée is #20 and Cartier Tank #4???? That alone removes any credibility to this list.

Let us all BE GRATEFUL they are promoting the typical stuff for typical people. Forbes thankfully left alone RW Smith, Czapek, MB&F, Simon Brette, Armin Strom, H. Moser, etc etc etc. Gentlemen, you know what to do

Can't much argue with the list. But feel there are some notable missing:

VC Offshore Chronograph
Rolex Explorer (1)
Omega Seamaster
Panerai Luminor
IWC Perpetual Calendar
IWC Big Pilot
Grand Seiko Snowflake (Spring Drive)
Seiko Tuna
Timex Ironman
G-Shock
Apple Watch

Just off the top of my head... Seemed biased to rare and expensive.

the order could be debated without resolution and sure there may be some that were missed and maybe some that we might feel don’t qualify.

Many of the choices, yes they are typically high end, are ground breaking pieces that left a mark with their horological significance.

One of the meaningful things that makes most of these pieces so desirable is their longevity.

They also had a nice mix of knowledgeable and established watch people making the choices.

I like the top 5….

I’d have to have a Santos in my top 5!

Although I haven’t got one :) do as I say, don’t do as I do….
