Here's the commercial that got me spending hours looking at the Consumers Distributing catalog back in the day.:

Here's a cool one from the 90s with the DW6600 that you like: https://youtu.be/PS8JJTLuTcA?si=XaGlo5XcDA_3hD18

That's another great one! I don't quite know exactly what it is about that watch but after all these years it somehow remains my favourite G-Shock. It's toughness and even how bright to backlight was compared to some other models of the era amazed me then. I just like the layout of the display in general and will always appreciate this model.

My wife very kindly just bought me this DW-6600 in what Casio calls Vintage Product Colours -- supposedly inspired by the colours of computers and stuff from the 1970s and 1980s. It looks much nicer in person than I was expecting, and I've been going on about it for a couple of weeks now, since I saw it by chance on a Japanese YT channel. I like the 70s-style brown and beige, and the green screen is kinda cool, too.

Thanks Rommel. It's definitely stirring up nostalgia for when I worked reception on computers in a very beige-and-brown London hotel in the mid 1980s. Luckily the wife found it for only about $60 brand new here in HK, but I think I'll be wearing it more than initially expected, even though the module is pretty basic.

That's amazing! This is one of the few models where I actually like the more basic module, because I'm otherwise into things like the Riseman and Rangeman.

It also has a nice tactical look to it, mainly because of the colours used I feel, but versatile for what it is either way. Which box did it come in?

Just the usual tin. I think this is the only Casio I have with a flashing alarm option and light staying on as long as the button is pressed down. Too bad it's not solar but 5-yr battery is pretty good.
