Omega Polaris Seamaster

I'm not really an Omega guy, though I am of course interested in the brand heritage and have owned a couple of vintage models, so bear with me when I ask: Why doesn't anyone seem to talk about the Polaris line of Seamasters and chronometers? I know they look a bit dated but so do other late 20th C. Gerald Genta designs (of which the Polaris is said to be one) and the case has that unusual and inexplicably formed gold and steel or titanium combo.

Any owners here with pics to share, stories to tell, or theories to expound?

I don't own one but have stumbled upon listing on eBay when browsing vintage Omega watches. Although the aesthetics never appeared to me enough to purchase before, I would totally consider adding one to the collection for the right price.

My appreciation for the Omega brand in general (and the thread about vintage models) truly do have me looking to expand. Also, I have a tendency to appreciate things that aren't always appreciated by the masses.

Not popular because most of the models have a quartz movement.
And they are at the age where alot of the quartz movements go bad.

Pulled the trigger on this today.... Should arrive tomorrow. Comes with the "Extract of the Archives". This one is an automatic based on the Valjoux 7750 with Omega's modification. Super easy to service vs Quartz.

That's a really great-looking watch, and nice to have the extract, too. I'd forgotten about this thread, since it go no responses back in 2022. Thanks for the comments and pics

What can I say, I went down the rabbit hole again.

I'd always held off as Milaguss mentioned the Quartz and old movements like that might be hard to service or replace. And they were really too small for my modern preference. Most are about 31-32mm, but there is one quartz chronograph that is about 38mm. 38mm is fine with me, but I like this one with the serviceable automatic movement.
