Aquanaut out, you get paid ridiculously well for letting it go too. If it makes you feel better use half of the cash and get another Rolex or VC.

Frankly your collection is outstanding with the latest ddition of the Kurono Toki. I don't think you need to sell or add any pieces. It is perfect as it is.

For the pic below I’ve grouped them into two, the top row which has been very stable and in fact I’ve had all these watches for around 5 years now. These all appear to be keepers.

However, with the recent rise in value of many of the top row, for the past year or so I’ve been adding watches that are, for me, more comfortable to wear on a daily basis. As you can see, I’ve been enjoying getting some very nice Omega speedmasters and also got my first “independent” watch with the Kurono Toki.

There is one spot left - I need to do some thinking on this. Any suggestions for me to ponder?

(Maybe I should rename the thread “Increasing the collection - which one?” )
I would dump the kurono, 5711, aquanaut, tudor, AP and moonwatch and replace with: 5740 / 5990r / 5980r and a metal bracelet AP of your liking.

That’s good advice - thank you.

I really like your collection.
If this was me I’d say its between the two white dial chronos.
I really like the RG RO who adds some gold and are different. I would keep it over the ROC for that reason. Daytona or AP? Since you dont have any other Rolex, Id say ROC goes.
This is just my opinion on the balance. If you like any piece way less just sell that one.
The Pateks could obv bring some serious cash!!!

I’d lose the VC but that’s purely because I wouldn’t wear it. Based on what you’re looking for, I’d suggest losing either the Daytona or the ROC as they ‘do the same thing’. And given I think all connections need a Rolex to do the tough stuff, I’d wave goodbye to the ROC.

I would add your Seamaster to the box and call it a day, especially because it deserves to be there more so than the Kurono, although I guess that checks the "independent" box.

I stumbled across this old thread of mine and it made me laugh.
I completely failed at reducing the collection. But I’ve enjoyed the hobby.
I feel I have enough watches (and watch boxes) now though! :)

Current state of the collection is:

I'm not a fan of the dual time.

Love the changes you made.

Question:
How does the WG Odysseus wear (in terms of dimensions) compared to the 5167? Been considering one but haven't been able to get hands on with one yet.

Reducing collection - which one?

It’s quite a journey isn’t it!? I wish I had documented my collection over the years.
Love the green AP you wound up with. The Odysseus is coming more interesting to me, I didn’t really like it at first but I’m getting more curious to trying one but lord knows I don’t need it.
Thx for sharing w us. It’s a really fun hobby
PS: you do need a complicated (perp) patek next. Just get a 5270. Its so so good

The Lange wears noticeably bigger than the 5167. The case is thicker and also the lug design makes the Lange wear quite large.

The Lange Odysseus has grown on me and is now one of my top 3. It’s also one of the most worn watches I have.
