Stay off the forums sales listing if you're afraid

Just met a very weird guy texting me regarding a piece i listed here for sale.
He went thru lengths to verify me as a seller and a person.
I went with it and provided everything he asked.
eg.
1) I offered a video call in real time with him, to identify me and the watch i am selling.
2) Sent him my business profile here in Singapore
3) Sent him a photo of the watch with his whatsapp chat in the background
4) He went ahead to create a account here and pm me to verify if i am the same person as i claimed to be, which i did reply and again, a photo of his chat on my phone and the PM message as background
5) Sent him references i have listed here and another forum, which i believe he went to review

Then he decided he wants to videocall me, which is 100% fine and I am ready to do so.

Lastly, he wants to pay via chrono24 instead of a bank wire, which I am fine but he got to pay up the commission for chrono24, i ain't going to pay for that.

I told him lastly, that he have went thru great lengths to verify me as a seller and i have yet to do so on him, the least he could do is give me some trust.

He got turned off and say the red flag for him is to always cut off at the point where the seller ask him to trust. he say he always trust but verify.
decided to back off from the deal.
there's no trust therefore verify, the former doesn't come first.

My point is, if you can't trust anyone online, stay off the online forums and all its sales listing, go down to your nearest AD/Boutique/Grey watch dealer storefront, pay up and purchase it physically.

Do you need to trust the buyer if you get the funds?

YES! You're giving him your bank account info, name and address for a wire transfer.

yes, for sure, especially the ones that wants to pay via credit card in an escrow service such as Chrono24.

it's going to be a huge headache if watch is being shipped and received, but he can claim the watch isn't there.

so it's a two way street.

Interesting. I've purchased a number of watches online from trusted sleers here and never had a seller do due diligence on me. It's no riskier for the seller than writing a check.

I wire the money, they mail the watch. Why does the seller need to trust me if he has my funds?

Hmmmmm you prob don't do it much anymore, but if you have ever written a check to someone it has your name address and account number on it.

Checks are still used today every day.

If someone sends you money and it clears, you don't need to worry anything about them. Just mail the watch
