Are 38 mm cases (plus latest auto and spring drive) ramping up?

Made mention in another thread that I really like the Wakaba automatic high beat at 38mm. While I love my Taisetsu @40mm…a smidge smaller would be ideal.

I also dig the pastel green dial of the Wakaba, but hoping there will be more innovative / versatile colors and textures to come soon.

What do folks think about 38mm? Will we see more? Will We get the latest gorgeous automatic movement - AND spring drive in 38?

I'd like to see more 36.5mm 44GS models. Don't care what movement (pretty much all are/will be SBGW which is fine), I just want more traditional size watches from GS with those gorgeous dials. Everything in their catalog is so large.

I’m with you.

I can do 40…but prefer sizes from Vintage days. At 38mm the Wakaba sits nicely on wrist and gets the prior auto movement…it’s fine, just not as hideous as the one in the Birch series.

Personally I prefer 36mm, 38mm, and 40mm watches on my 7 1/2 inch wrist.

Yup.
If the Taisetsu were 38mm or even 36 - it would be perfect.
