Having lived in New York, I can assure you that wearing a Rolex if staying in Manhattan will not be an issue, and will also get little attention as a “starter watch”. Even with spotters increasing, they are much more likely to target high end watches. If you’re dining in Brooklyn, suggest you don’t necessarily dine on a terrace or close to the entrance, grab & run have become a thing there regrettably

NYC last year for a week / walking down 5th ave with my sea dweller - looking at a watch shop window, this woman approached me pointing at watches telling me which ones she thought would look good on me.
She got way too close for comfort, I firmly stepped back staring at her, and said politely but firmly I’ll give you more room for you to admire watches, madam”. |
