2024 - Explorer II 226570 - No laser-etched crown on the crystal

In December 2024, I bought my first Rolex from my local AD. Brand new Rolex Explorer II 226570.

I was having fun with a microscope and a loupe trying to spot the "laser-etched crown" on the crystal. Well, it's absolutely nowhere to be seen. I looked under every angles, very strong magnification, different lighting conditions. I can guarantee the "laser-etched crown" is not here.

I was actually quite surprised about this. Have Rolex stopped to put it on new models ? Is it coming on absolutely every models or crystals ? Or sometimes it's missed or forgotten (which would be weird) ?

It honestly doesn't bother me, I have no doubt about the authenticity (it comes new from the AD), I'm just curious :)

EDIT: I actually found it ;)

I suspect it's there, but you'll have a devil of a job finding it (which apparently is a good thing - the counterfeit version is supposedly a doddle to spot).

It took me an age finding my laser-etched crown (again, on a 2024 Rolex) using a torch, magnifying glass, my daughter's microscope, and eventually the biggest flashlight I could find in the shed.

Got there eventually, but gosh I wasted a lot of time.

I just had the idea to use a laser to spot the refraction and daaaang I just saw it.
It's nearly impossible to spot on the white dial of the Explorer II. There is absolutely no way you would spot it without searching for it.

It’s there. It takes a while to find it but once you do you feel like you accomplished something.

A crown for every achievement and all that.

The only modern Rolex watch that does not have a laser etched crown is the Milgauss with the green tinted crystal.

A bright light at the right angle and a magnifying glass.

This thread is why I am not even going to try to find it on my latest pick up. I drove myself crazy on the other two watches, but did finally find them. This time I’m content to assume it’s there.

Guys n Gals, I’ve never worried about this because everything of mine comes from the AD. I know they are there. The other thing is they are a pain to find or learn how to do so, the angle , the light and the position, etc…… When this started, I was at the AD and was shown how and it took the SA a few seconds to do. that was a long time ago.

The pros know because they do it everyday and look at a ton of pieces, after a while they know where to look on every model, in a few seconds. This is what they do, day in, day out.

I think it would drive me insane!

Cheers,

I found using the camera on my phone with its magnification was helpful for my eyesight !! Still not easy to find the right angle though. Happy hunting.
