Looking to try on 321 ed white

Went to try on or just even see it in real life yesterday at the local boutique in palm beach gardens mall…at least i was not laughed at by the staff ….they are all pre sold you cant and will never be able to walk in and try on…

The manager was nice informative and incredibly beautiful as noted by my wife and daughter. She was kind enough to take my number and informed me “maybe” the last one sold to a collector(did i have an omega collection? No) that it would take regional approval and i needed 300k spend.

Dang that watch is “special” lol

It is a beautiful watch

I’d like to see the new Platinum on platinum but I doubt I’ll ever be so lucky

Me too! :-)

At least with the FOiS, one can get a pretty good idea.

Slim chance to try one on. I did get a little lucky in trying one on a few times in the past & it is an amazing time piece, it’s probably the most comfortable watch to wear too. I couldn’t wait any longer so I went grey last summer.

These watches were extremely hyped...not so much recently. The MSRP has gone up to more than 15k, while the grey market prices have been dropping. A quick look at chrono and you can find them in the 15k range.

You could probably get a BNIB for 16-17k.

Definitely down to go grey bought a new 126710 blro grey 6 months ago and it was a great experience…thanks briboxer. For me its just hard to drop the coin on something not seen in real life or tried on. Agree that grey is certainly a better approach it was hard not to laugh and poke fun at the boutique when told i needed 300k spend totally redunkulous. The lovely sales person did give my wife and daughter chocolates and was very honest and kind. No one laughed at me like at a rolex ad when asking to try on a watch.

I need to join a watch group.

I’ll share my experience with you so take it for what it’s worth …

I bought my 321 sight unseen from our boutique here in Canada. I read up on it, looked at literally dozens of reviews/videos/read articles etc etc etc.

I also had tried on a bunch of Omega Speedmasters in the past so I guess I had a pretty good idea of what I might be getting into. Still, I actually have to say I was nervous buying a watch sight unseen

That all dissipated when I received the watch (thank god). It’s the most special (to me) watch in my modest collection.

These reviews are great and partially responsible for my interest in this reference and for giving me the nudge to own one

Obviously I’m not suggesting you buy sight unseen, I realize that can be dangerous for most. It just happened to work out beautifully for me

Good luck!

Be upfront with your grey dealer that you may not like the watch and check their return policy. Everyone I've bought gray/used from was OK with this.

To me the issue you need to decide is whether you like the earlier style case with straight lugs and flat link bracelet. The new FOIS is available to try on at boutiques and will give you a sense of how the 321 wears.

I like the case the history and limited production. I asked and was told how in demand the FOIS is and when they come in they are sold like the 321.. I did not think to ask about the wait time Palm beach gardens mall boutique a super rich part of Florida.

My local rolex AD does carry omega however i was a twenty year customer until i asked for a steel gmt 2.

I just bought one from an OB late last year and it is a magnificent watch.

It is worth noting that I was getting tired of waiting and have been following the "near new" recently flipped ones on the grey market. The premiums on these have dropped to less than $1K, so if the OB had not come thru, I would have gotten one anyway.

If I had gotten the 321, I wouldn't have needed to get the 3861....but since I got the 3861 first, I will keep them both...

Anyone who owns the 321 finds that the winding of the watch is not as easy and smooth as the 3861?

I wanted my 321 the moment it was announced by Omega and I was fully prepared to buy it knowing I would probably never get to try it on ahead of time....however I was flying thru Istanbul Airport in 2021 and they had one that was allocated to be picked up and I was able to spend some time with it between my connecting flights and it fully reinforced my decision to buy that piece....which I ended up purchasing from that same boutique in the Istanbul Airport. Its such a special piece.
