The three in my collection.. enough?

There have been a couple of 3 watch collections visited on this forum lately. I thought I'd share mine.

The Explorer 124270 and BB54 fill my vintage style watch wants. Love the sizes with modern appointments.

The DJ41 has a more modern approach to watches and my love for the rhodium/slate dial. The Wimbledon markings, to me, seem sportier than just stick markers. I have no use for anything dressier than my DJ41.

I'm very satisfied with these 3 watches. I'm on the list for either a Submariner or Batman. I can't remember the last time I've turned a bezel on a watch! As the days go by, I wonder if I should pass on either if offered. I'll deal with that if the day comes.

Thanks for letting me ramble... :)

As far as whether or not they are enough, only you and the maker know that!!! If you are satisfied then it's enough. Nice collection however!!!

I would trade the Tudor in for either of the watches you mentioned possibly being offered. Now that you have three, follow a one-in, one-out system for acquiring new pieces.

Great three watches there. Independently, they’re all fantastic. As a whole, I’d swap out the DJ for the BLNR. No need for a Submariner, as the BB54 is a great diver.

Nice collection, but I personally would definitely not be passing if I’m offered either of those two watches.

Love that DJ!

Of your 3, the explorer is just a little too small in my opinion. Sub would probably fit you very well and is a better option.

If you really want only 3, I’d sell the Explorer, as it looks small on your wrist, and pick up one of the new Subs, if offered. The DJ and BB54 are both keepers, in my view.

If a three watch collection is enough for you, it's enough. Nice selection you have there.

Nice collection OP

I think you should just enjoy what you have, it’s a versatile group you have there. If you’re offered something that strikes your fancy and funds permit, add it and then decide what if any you’d like to move out

Great trio! Enjoy it for now and see how you feel if you get the call for a Sub or GMT.

Certainly enough and if you’re happy that’s all that matters.
Personally I would trade all three for one best and favourite watch preferably from a high horology brand and step up from mass produced Rolex

Nice collection but there is no reason to not try a different watch if the opportunity should arise. The core is three watches by your choice but if you get the call for the BLNR or a Submariner and can add one without having to sell or trade a watch out you can have four for a brief period and determine how it works and which watch fits the collection the best. A Submariner and the Black Bay can live in a collection together as I wear my Black Bays on leather/NATO and it adds to the vintage charm for me. Good luck and let us know what you decide.

I think a batman would be a great addition as it adds a new complication to your collection in a GMT. Maybe also consider a chrono?

Fantastic collection, enjoy what you have and don't rush into another purchase.

If it was me, you have steel covered. I would be adding PM or TT watches of my choice in future.

I just picked up a BB58 at my AD and was given a discount. I will honestly say, if ever there was a watch that made me question my own insanity for waiting for “particular” Rolex models this would be it.

Now the BB54 is a touch smaller but for me, these watches DO embody the vintage vibe with more modern movements and i don’t have to be scared to wear. Would I love a Rolex 6538? Without a doubt. Am I shelling out half a million for a vintage specimen that is most likely not water-tight? Hell no.

People can say what they want but for a sub $4K piece, it really doesn’t get better than this. Now I’m hoping they release something in this size at W&W. Even with a larger wrist, most of the Tudors I’ve owned are just too big and thick…
I’d keep the BB54. It really might be the only diver one ever “needs”.

Go for a Submariner and then either sell the BB54 or use it as your daily beater watch.

No. I think you need a Daytona. GMT. Submariner and a DJ or DD. That’s the perfect 4 watch collection imo.
