Rolex CPO purchase

Just bought my Explorer II, certified pre owned. Absolutely love it. Cannot take it off my wrist. My question , a few months ago I was in this same AD and put in an “ order” for his and hers Yachtmasters. I realized it was a long shot. Browsing this case this past weekend , I pulled the trigger on this Explorer. Does this increase my outside shot at hearing from them on a Yachtmaster?

It’s done you no harm, and yes it may give you a leg up, you have buyer history now …

Yes, purchasing a CPO watch gives you better rapport than purchasing just another new Rolex imo.

I’d imagine buying a CPO watch at CPO prices would immediately catapult you up most waitlists. I don’t think you’ll have to wait all that long for your Yachtmasters.

100%!

Much better margins for ADs on CPO watches.

They make money on both ends, trade in, and selling to new owner.

Your AD is no doubt tracking ALL the purchases you make, so yes - it should give your position on "the list" a bit of a bump.

And the Y-Ms appear to be getting easier to get, so that's another plus. Good luck!

Maybe.
It really depends on who is in front of you for the next YMs that come in.

I'm just guessing - all things being equal, chronology is all that determines the difference between two non-buying line-standers.

Having bought the watch you did gives you the jump ball advantage.

Sort of like buying a 2nd Powerball ticket, it doesn't measurable improvement your odds overall.

Does not hurt your chances and it may help. Don’t know what market your in, YM are not that hard too get with one exception the RLX which is a unicorn. I’ve seen 3 since its release. Congrats on the EXP II

Yes you have improved your odds, to what extent however remains subjective. Keep the dialogue going with the SA who sold it to you and one day you may be standing in the right place at the right time.

Several people requested a pic. Each time I tried to post, I get a message that the file is too big? Pic from my Iphone. Not too swift with this procedure. Suggestions….

The only person that can accurately answer your question is the sales assistant at your AD.

One never knows in this crazy Rolex world what will happen but I would think this gives you a real good shot. Don’t forget to stop by and check in with your SA at this AD every few weeks. That seemed to work for me..

Congrats on your Explorer II! Great piece and an excellent choice! As for the YM pair, I suspect this purchase should help increase your chances. I am hoping that you reminded your SA about the YM's request when you bought your Explorer? Usually, the SA will look it up in their computer and see that the request was still on file under your name. I would go back, visit once in a while and keep expressing interest.

Yes. You are a much more valuable customer than one who just buys at MSRP because you provide more profits to the AD

Buying from the same AD might just give you an edge if they remember your interest in the Yach-tmaster. Who knows, they might reach out to you soon about it!
