Hello TRF! This is a special one! Up for sale is the SEAGULL 1963 Limited Edition Chronograph. This 1963 is one of the 5,500 pieces issued in 2020 celebrating the 65-year anniversary of the Tianjin Watch Factory.

In 1961, the Tianjin watch factory was assigned the task of developing the official aviation watch for pilots in the Chinese air force. In 1963, more than 30 prototypes were completed, and the official version of ‘project 304’ was released. Colloquially known as the 1963, over the years this watch was made in small runs commissioned by enthusiasts with permission from Seagull. Only in 2020 to celebrate the anniversary did Seagull reintroduce the 1963 with a limited run out of the original factory. The Seagull 1963 plays an important role in the history of Chinese military watches, and this specific reference is a must have for collectors.

I wore this a handful of times to watch meet-ups, but other than that it has stayed in the original box. I purchased it in China at a Seagull retail location while visiting on a business trip (that I planned strategically following the release!) I hope to sell it to a collector who will appreciate its significance or to an admirer that will give it the appropriate wrist time.
