Break-ins & decision
A neighbour’s house has just been ransacked. The took everything, watches, Jewellery, artwork etc.
With so many break-ins in my neighbourhood, and also having been a victim myself a few years back, I decided to keep only two expensive watches at home, one on my wrist and the other in the safe. I moved all my watches now to a secure storage location - bit of a pain not to have my watches easily accessible but a huge relief in knowing that they’re much safer - and so are we in case some idiot decides to break in, as I WILL open the safe and press the panic button connected to the police. They can then help themselves to some fake watches in the safe, and potentially one real one. Oh dear, how low have I stooped! Feeling good & not feeling good at the same time. |

By chance can you live somewhere safer? Perhaps your own personal safety is at risk, especially during a home invasion. Where else have you considered living?

Damn, I’m truly sorry to hear this. It really is awful we have to go to these lengths.

Wow, sorry to hear this has hit so close to home. We had a neighborhood home invasion a few years ago where a local cop was shot in the leg while the owner hid in a closet. It turned out that the gang that ran the heist actually went to the wrong house instead of their intended target.

A police friend of mine said that lately, the sophisticated gangs who break into homes seem to target people with social accounts such as IG, Facebook, and TikTok. Many people posts about their luxury lifestyle of cars, purses and watches etc. Scary world.

My comment is not meant to be offensive nor political, but a harsh reality and truth that applies UNIVERSALLY to democratized countries.
We all live in the society we choose to allow, whether it be local or national. One can either enable it or change it.

I know we are all friends here, but there is plenty of evil in the world to have enough left over to land right here. Folks shouldn't post descriptions and pictures of their homes, property, businesses, and kids. It's a pretty high security risk. |
