Black dial Sky Dweller or white gold Day Date?
I want a black dial watch. I have a line in a black jubilee sky dweller and a pre owned white gold day date. Can’t have both. Always loved the president bracelet on the DD. But I love the dial on the sky dweller. What would you choose if the $ wasn’t much of a difference between the two?

The black dial Sky-Dweller is my favorite version, but if DD is an option, I will almost always choose the DD.
I’m surprised that a pre-owned DD is roughly the same price as a new SS Sky-Dweller? |

I’m assuming the DD is an older 36mm previous 11 series gen. I wouldn’t wear a 36mm to be honest. Sky-D this time. And in a blue dial. The sky is blue. Happy hunting. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

It would be for a 41mm dd2. And yes, the dd 2 would be a bit more. I’m saying money aside… Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'd go DD if I could get a comfortable fit. This can be tricky.

I'm not a fan of the DDII proportions and I love the black dial Skydweller.
Skydweller for me. |

I find I grab the Sky Dweller a lot more than the Day Date, fwiw. My recommendation is the Sky Dweller. No photo of a black dial DD40, sorry.

The DD II would be the watch if in good condition and complete.

Black dial Sky Dweller or white gold Day Date?
I’m guessing the price difference is significant - the DD2 could cost twice what the stainless steel Sky-Dweller does.
Even though the Sky Dweller is a large watch, it wears comfortably and is balanced well in the bracelet. The DD2 is a cool watch, but I never felt it looked harmonious in design and proportion like the 36 mm and 40 mm versions do. If you’re dying for a bold big gold watch, forget your two options above and get a gold Sky-Dweller! You can’t go wrong with any of these watches, but of the choices above, if I were to have one one, it would be the gold Sky Dweller. Good luck with the decision! Great problems to have! You really need to try a DD2 on first, if you have not done so already. That might change your entire disposition on this deal. For me personally, I engage each day with the DD2 avoidance mode enabled.

Sky-dweller with a president bracelet would be an enticing prospect.
Enthralled by the sky-dweller because of the complication and the ingenious engineering. It’s a step above the day-date. You don’t notice the thickness after spending some time with it. And it’s really no thicker than most watches I’ve worn. Rolex has spoiled many of us because of the svelte, slim cases across many of its product range. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Bought last week black dial SD and that would be my choice at this stage though DD is never wrong either!

I do not like the DD II
I like the DD40 much more. I also don't care for the SD. If you travel internationally a lot or do a lot of business internationally perhaps the SD
