Incoming!!!

Well…. I really didn’t see this coming. This year has started off pretty crazy. I turn 50 later this year and the only watch that I was after was a silver dial Royal Oak. I got the call for that 2 weeks ago and am very much in the honeymoon phase with it. It’s beautiful and I just love it. But that’s not the subject of this incoming.

On Thursday I got a call that I never expected. I have a very good relationship with my Rolex AD and SA. I’ve mentioned to them before that a Daytona would be an aspirational watch for me someday. I had pretty much given up on it ever being a possibility. In fact, I even posted here that I was content with my white dial speedy and that between the AD games, grey market markup and hype, etc - I was over hunting down a stainless steel Daytona. I also vowed never to pay the grey market premium for that watch.

Well - fate is funny. I got the call on Thursday. It’s perfection IMO. Man…. I think I convinced myself that it just wasn’t that great since I never expected to get one. But it’s perfection.

My wife is ready to kill me for buying another watch already when I told her just one this year. She thinks that I’m making it up that these are hard to come by….. but she will forgive me someday! Ha!!

congrats!! post side by side pics

since you have a ro as well, have to ask - if you had to keep one, which would you choose between daytona and roc? currently in search of a chrono and am still torn between the two.

Oh man…. Well I don’t have the chrono just the regular RO. Too soon to say. I have had the RO for 2 weeks and the Daytona for 2 days. LOL! I’ll send a side by side later today.

When it rains, it pours! Well done! Two heavy hitters back to back. I’d love to know what else you have in your collection.

Dear Mrs “Colorado Time”.

Your husband is scamming you. These Rolex Daytona Watches are a dime a dozen. I can’t believe he is pulling the just this year - Wow.

Clearly just kidding - he is on the up and up - I would say majority of the members on the site would do the same thing it’s a great watch and in this case investment. Very fortunate to score both. Congrats !!
