Verify Real or Fake?
I have an offer to purchase this 1969 GMT Pepsi. I have received a price offer which I feel is very competitive and would like assistance confirming the watch is authentic. This would be my first Rolex.
Any help/insights are much appreciated. Thank you! |

Bezel insert is a replacement but you probably knew that. Dial looks to have been replaced.
You probably want to include some shorts of the shoulders, lug holes, clasp and underside of bracelet. But let’s be honest pretty much impossible to tell from a few photos. If you’ve got a reputable seller you should be ok. Some bloke you met in a bar, not so much! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Thank you - it is for sale at a reputable, family-owned, single-location jewelry store near my house, where I purchased my wife & I's wedding bands last year. It does not have papers. Just wanting to do my due diligence before purchasing.

If OK with the seller, have a watchmaker (or yourself if you are comfortable doing so) remove the back. If doing yourself, google "Rolex free sprung balance and micro stella weights". If they look correct, extremely unlikely this is a fake.

If no papers, how do you know it’s an original Pepsi? How much do they want for it?

OP, looks good! Some service parts but a genuine piece. Open her up to be sure, but from here looks good to my eyes From first glance, replacements parts appear to be as follows: 1. Dial/hands 2. Datewheel overlay 3. Bezel insert 4. 7836/78360 bracelet - Original would have been a riveted 7206.

Thank you so much for your feedback. Very reassuring to hear it appears good (with some service parts of course). The price is $8.5K USD plus tax. From my research, that feels like a good price, but I may try to negotiate down and at least get a discount to cover what I'd probably pay in tax.
