I'm with the Hesalite crowd for all the obvious reasons and don't consider the Saphire as an option with a black dial and a strap.
Now when it comes to the white dial, i would and will definately consider a full fat version with Saphire and bracelet when i get around to it. |

Newly joined but I have a hesalite and try to be reasonably careful although it’s a daily wearer and still looks great. When it needs it I’ll give it a polish. Definitely no ragerts

Hesalite owner here. The scratches polish out very easily with PolyWatch. No regrets, but I have an appetite for the sapphire sandwich.

Hesalite is awesome on the classic Speedy pro, or any other historically relevant models. for the 'fashion' models and any special editions that aren't trying to be accurate to the past, I'd probably want sapphire.

I'm a bit of a purist and think one's first Moonwatch should be Hesalite. But I'm happy for the sapphire buyers to join our little club

Have owned both (currently own the 3861 black sapphire model), both have their advantages / disadvantages.

I went with the 1861 hesalite roughly 5 years ago. It's my daily, and although it takes some maintenance, I have zero regrets. It's pretty much the only watch I wear these days. Love it.
