Views on my first Rolex - 1988 16030 Datejust

Hello

I am new to your forum, I see there is a huge amount of fascinating information on here!

Attached are photos of my first Rolex, purchased just over a year ago from a dealer here in the UK. Since buying it I have developed a real enthusiasm for vintage and neo-vintage Rolex.

My Datejust is a 1988 R serial plexiglass model. It came as a full set with one owner before myself.

I think I have bought a lovely example but would welcome your expert views, be they positive or negative!

Many thanks!

Big congrats! Looks to be in great condition with a very fat case. I’d be curious to see the full set.

These classic DJs are such a good value right now in the vintage Rolex world.

Looks good.....a silver Datejust is quintessentially Rolex.

All about price on a DJ.

For a laugh and to check something I had a look at 1988 16030 on C24.... there are 5 from $ 5-6.5 k which is insanely over the top for a 16030 imho.
