FS: 1946 Rolex ref 3372 Oyster Perpetual Chronometer in 14K Rose Gold ("Bubbleback")
I am helping my father (in the Phoenix area) sell his 1946 Rolex Bubbleback ref 3372 watch. This watch is in an amazingly good condition. For the vast majority of time since 1948, the year my father inherited it, the watch has been unworn and kept in a safe. The initials engraved on the back are those of the original owner (a regional business owner in the Pacific Northwest) as well as of my father.
Not knowing whether we would keep or sell the watch, we had it serviced late last year (October 2024) by a leading bubbleback servicer (and a member of this forum} who commented that it is among the top 1 in 100 in condition that he's seen. He cleaned, relubricated, restaffed it and added new 18K Rolex bars (instead of those pictured). After servicing it appears to be running only several seconds fast a day. Pictures are entirely unretouched except for exposure, cropping and downsizing for this forum. The dial and case are original. The strap and buckle are NOT original which have been lost to time as have the boxes and papers. Higher resolution photos are available on serious inquiry. The transaction would settle through escrow.com, an escrow service that basically holds money until both parties are satisfied several days after the seller receives it. If the buyer has a preferred escrow-like service we'd be happy to consider alternatives. Asking price is US $7,850 with escrow prices to be split (estimated at $400). |
