Sorry to do this, but I’m gonna ask you to bear with me one more day. Others have seen before I took it down, and others have guessed. Here’s a hint:

I think once you put your first CC payment down it’s yours. Like a down payment. Not to be speculative but I think you may have picked up your watch at the perfect time. I could see it go away this year like the meteorite Daytonas. Only so much meteorite left for them to use.

Looks to be meteorite Pepsi, 2nd thread of the week for this model and I made one last week on this model saying should I pull the trigger. It's an absolutely stunning watch!

Cool texture on the dial...
Meteorite is a material which cannot be fabricated in this world.
Congrats.

I think the GMT meteorite run will end soon too. It's been out for close to 6 years now and I think it's time to move the meteorite to a different sports model.

Congrats.
But the gold was made by neutron stars colliding at about 1/3 the speed of light.

So many looks depending on angle and lighting. Can’t wait to see in natural light.

Blown away!

Stunning, and congrats! Is that the box it comes with and you can keep, or did the store simply present it that way?

Presentation box. It’s only for displaying the newly sold piece to the client. Not for sale.

Interestingly, this AD did not have any of the new L size boxes with green outer box, so I got the old L box with beige / cream outer box.
Above - old left, new right

Old top, new bottom (see new wave pattern)

New box back with brass hinge showing.

Old box back - no hinge seen.

New outer box bottom

Old outer box bottom

Top new outer sleeve, bottom old outer sleeve

The new M box is larger than the old M box, but smaller than old L box

That presentation box is made by the same company (Rolex actually acquired them) that makes all of their store interior finishes.

Yep! And the cool thing about Rolex is literally every part of their production is vertically integrated compared to other major swiss brands in the space (excluding Patek & Moser). This topic came up this week in the Omega production thread.

Offered My Grail Today at AD - OMG!

Here’s the backdrop …

Last week, I stopped in to see my SA to catch up. She wasn’t there so I chatted with another guy about cars, life, etc. He passed on my best wishes to her.

Last Friday, my SA texted saying she’s sorry she missed me when I stopped in. I said no big deal, I’ll catch her next time I’m in. She asked if I would be in again next week. I said I’d stop in as I had some errands nearby anyway. I asked if anything was importanf? She said no, she just missed our conversations. I said I enjoyed them too.

I stopped into my AD Monday after work (like 6pm) … I had a sneaking suspicion that she had something to show me if not offer. Alas, she was off. Spent 15-20mins catching up with others there and left.

Stopped in again Tuesday around 6pm (again after work). Like I said, I had a hunch. She was there and happy to see me. She had been helping someone else and set something down on the counter behind the bar, where I couldn’t see it. She got me a sparkling water and we chatted for half an hour. Her family has had some medical challenges, so we talked about how that was going.

The conversation was winding down, so I said, “well, I’ll let you go”, but she said, “Hold on, I want to show you something first” and pulled out that huge display wood and brass plated box.

What is this, I thought ….

My mind was reeling, thinking back to the watches I’ve mentioned to her as desired. Too big of a production for a steel watch. Was it green lacquer dial DD40 I’ve been pining for, or dare I even allow my mind to even approach thinking about … my grail … the 126710BLRO-0002 (WG Pepsi Meteorite)?

She told me to open it and then instructed me to press the button on the front of the box. She warned that the hinges were a little stiff, so she promised to hold the bottom while I raised the top.

OMG - inside was ….. MY GRAIL!!!!

I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t talk. I didn’t know what to say. I eventually came around to “It’s Stunning!”

I finally composed myself, took some pics and asked my SA if she would hold it for me. I needed to sort out some things. I hadn’t brought the right plastic and wasn’t expecting this.

She said of course and said they were happy to offer me such a beautiful and rare reference.

I left to go figure it out.

That night I prematurely posted here on TRF that I had just been offered my grail, but about 20mins later realized I was jinxing myself as I had not bought it yet.

I couldn’t take down the post, so I edited them and poorly I might add. Sorry for all the confusion, but all’s well that ends well.

What a piece! Indeed it is the grail GMT for many.
How do you like the cut of your Gibeon? One in picture below has a triangle in the center that gets more pronounced in certain angles and lighting conditions. You are going to have so much fun with it. congrats!
