Last Friday, my SA texted saying she’s sorry she missed me when I stopped in. I said no big deal, I’ll catch her next time I’m in. She asked if I would be in again next week. I said I’d stop in as I had some errands nearby anyway. I asked if anything was importanf? She said no, she just missed our conversations. I said I enjoyed them too.

I stopped into my AD Monday after work (like 6pm) … I had a sneaking suspicion that she had something to show me if not offer. Alas, she was off. Spent 15-20mins catching up with others there and left.

Stopped in again Tuesday around 6pm (again after work). Like I said, I had a hunch. She was there and happy to see me. She had been helping someone else and set something down on the counter behind the bar, where I couldn’t see it. She got me a sparkling water and we chatted for half an hour. Her family has had some medical challenges, so we talked about how that was going.

The conversation was winding down, so I said, “well, I’ll let you go”, but she said, “Hold on, I want to show you something first” and pulled out that huge display wood and brass plated box.

What is this, I thought ….

My mind was reeling, thinking back to the watches I’ve mentioned to her as desired. Too big of a production for a steel watch. Was it green lacquer dial DD40 I’ve been pining for, or dare I even allow my mind to even approach thinking about … my grail … the 126710BLRO-0002 (WG Pepsi Meteorite)?

She told me to open it and then instructed me to press the button on the front of the box. She warned that the hinges were a little stiff, so she promised to hold the bottom while I raised the top.

OMG - inside was ….. MY GRAIL!!!!

I couldn’t breathe. I couldn’t talk. I didn’t know what to say. I eventually came around to “It’s Stunning!”

I finally composed myself, took some pics and asked my SA if she would hold it for me. I needed to sort out some things. I hadn’t brought the right plastic and wasn’t expecting this.

She said of course and said they were happy to offer me such a beautiful and rare reference.

I left to go figure it out.

That night I prematurely posted here on TRF that I had just been offered my grail, but about 20mins later realized I was jinxing myself as I had not bought it yet.

I couldn’t take down the post, so I edited them and poorly I might add. Sorry for all the confusion, but all’s well that ends well.

How do you like the cut of your Gibeon? One in picture below has a triangle in the center that gets more pronounced in certain angles and lighting conditions. You are going to have so much fun with it. congrats!

Thanks everyone

As for the meteorite section my watch has … I’ve seen ones with darker streaks and ones with less pronounced Widmanstätten patterns.

I love it just the way it is, and appreciate them all. I love knowing mine is mine and that there’s nothing else out there exactly like it. A 1 of 1 if you like.

Just FYI - this video hooked me on this watch. Luckily it did the same to my wife, so getting her onboard spending so much was made easier!

Pretty rare watch as well.

This guy says only 1% of all BLROs.

Thank goodness she got on board. Would have been extremely expensive and time consuming finding a new wife

I was quite shocked when they rolled out with the mother of Pearl Daytonas. Would be interesting to see if the GMT gets the MOP next. I personally am not a fan of MOP.

Congratulations to you, wonderful day for you can imagine emotion all over the place, who cares if you started and had to edit a thread it’s nothing, no one cares deep down, we’re all watch enthusiasts and the suspense was worth every second waiting to know, such an amazing watch you’ve got there ! Honestly chuffed for you, grail doesn’t get any better than that ! Enjoy it, that Meteorite dial the History and everything all rolled into a GMT honestly doesn’t get any better than that …
