RePolish Center Links

Hello All-

I have a BLNR and several year ago I had had the center links on the bracelet brushed out. I now am considering having them re-polished. My concern is that after going from polished to brushed back to polished it will take off too much metal and may show a gap/not fit properly. Should this be a problem? Has anyone had this performed before? Were you happy with the results?

Thanks

Fritz

I don’t think enough metal is coming off to be noticeable. Take it back to whoever did the brushing.

A light polish should do the trick on the center links. If it we me I'd also have the brushed outer links touched up too.

I don’t think you will be able to notice a bigger gap

This was my thought, as well. Then, no worries.

I had them brushed out by LA Watch Works and they gave me a quote of $250 to repolish. I think I will go ahead and have it done.

Thank All!

Get a Cape Cod cloth and some sticky tape and do it yourself? $5.

No way you’re getting a mirrored polished finish using a Cape Cod cloth from a brushed surface.

Do it. That is exactly what I would do as they are professionals with the right touch. I am a semi-pro at touchups but this is a bit beyond what I like to do. I could do it but for only $250, I wouldn’t even consider it.

Why do you want to change it back?

Maybe just buy a new bracelet? I would think you will be taking the center portion down enough to fully remove the brush indenture marks so the overall look will be off.

Depends, on who does the polishing, if you have the butcher, the baker and candle stick maker then , Yes , even on the center links. A good polish should always be minimal.

Cheers,
