Vintage Rolex purchase

Hi everyone I'm thinking of purchasing a vintage Rolex from Japan. I wanted to get some opinions it if I should and if it's worth it. It's a oyster precision 6410 from 1994 size is 25mm. They want $1600 it comes with certificate but it's in Japanese. Thoughts???

Obviously we can't provide any advice on a specific purchase given the little information you have provided. If you spend some time reading and participating in the forum, you'll probably get a better sense of how things work here.

In general, buying from Japan is not a particular problem, although depending on the platform you use, communication and returns can be challenging, and you might pay a small customs duty.

Thank you im trying to upload photos but it won't let me I keep getting an error. I've bought from this company many times and yes I would pay a small duty for it. They also accept returns. what other info would help?

You probably need to resize the image files so that they are within the allowed size range.

Sorry to hear that. Most people have no trouble uploading properly sized image files.

How many posts do you have? There’s a minimum (10, I think — correct me everybody if I’ve gotten that wrong) before TRF will allow you to upload photos. That may be the problem.

Nope, that is for posting links. You can upload photos right from the first post.

.
The model 6410 was not available in the 90s.
The two pictures that are now showing indicates the watch has a rivet bracelet.

You need more homework, get the first three numbers of the serial to determine year of production and verify model number.

Take into account import fees when having a watch shipped from abroad.

What does a rivet bracelet mean? So I should probably past on this watch than they said the certificate says 1994 I don't think they have the serial off the watch

Rivet is a type of early vintage bracelet available through the 1970s.

Usually a certificate, if original to the watch, should have the serial number.

Are you seeing this on Ebay, C24, ?! Post the link.

Those are the photos the seller sent? I might pass just based just on how bad they are, like they’re trying to hide something. I see better photos for $50 used tires on Craigslist, never mind a vintage Rolex.

If you want meaningful feedback, ask the seller for detailed photos, including of the Rolex certificate, and the beginning of the serial number, at a minimum.

Yea they showed the watch during a live sale that I watch than send me photos after the certificate is all in Japanese so. Wouldn't even know how to read it. I thought this was a good deal for a Rolex that's way I was interested in it. But I'm thinking I'm going to pass.
